v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0)
@dirkie   I'd suspect it's something in the BIOS settings. Some time ago, I found a guide & posted it here ,

It was Openelec, & it was a celeron nuc, it might not help, but you have nothing to lose.

On the Devices and Peripherals > Video menu, 1GB Minimum Memory is set to 512 MB. ?

Can you see the boot usb in the bios boot menu F10?

Hi Milhouse

I've found a strange bug which I never had in LE 8.2.5 (there's a thread in the german kodi board)

Anyway, I tried the last nightly that's possible to download "#0801, 01-Aug-2017" and there is the bug, too

Now I want to try the builds #0713, 14-Jul-2017 -> #0731, 31-Jul-2017
I just want to check from when the bug appears. Do you have the old nightlys (earlier than #0801, 01-Aug-2017) and could you send it to me?
@Milhouse thank you for your reply. I tried with 8.2.5 and KERNEL/System from that version you linked without success. It hangs right after bootloader timeout or trying to run "run". I chcecked with bios 37 and 42 :/

can i help with logs or something? Just tell me if I can do anything any help appreciated.

That bios RAM changes did not change anything.
Hi, I had used Libreelec in the past (Asrock Beebox 7100U) but after the update from (internally Kodi 16 -> 17) the DTS HD-Master and True HD was not working anymore.
So I switched to Windows 10 LTSB and let it run with Kodi 18 Leia Alpha 1-3, I had 3840x2160 60Hz Resolution working and all Sound Formats where playing with no issue.

I was a little bit unhappy that my screen resolution breaks down if I turned off my Yamaha A1050 Receiver under Windows 10 and so I heard from Libreelec and Milhouse.
After download the latest Libreelec Leia Version and install them I have updated to the Milhouse #0812 Version.
My screen resolution is again 3840x2160 but only 30Hz and my DTS-HD Master and True HD sound not working anymore.
I tried many options but nothing helps me and so I will ask you here in the forum.
Someone a hint for me what I should use or check?

Thx a lot.

No, they're gone I'm afraid.

I can't think of anything which would help - possibly removing quiet from the kernel command line might show a little more information, but this sounds like a vendor issue. We have other people with Gemini Lake systems installing and booting fine, but there's either a hardware fault with yours (run memtest86+ on the RAM?) or it's a BIOS bug which is preventing the Linux kernel from booting. Are you able to install something like Ubuntu from a flash drive?

When booting the LibreELEC installer, have you tried changing HDMI ports on the NUC (unplugging the cable from HDMI1 and plugging into HDMI2, or vice versa)? I seem to recall an issue with Intel NUCs a while ago where the output port would switch resulting in blank screens (either that, or I've mis-remembered what the problem was at the time).

Can you disable the "other" HDMI/Display Port/whatever output in the BIOS?

Edit: Also, do you have the option to boot using BIOS (Legacy) or only UEFI? In the boot manager you should see the USB boot drive listed twice, once for UEFI and again without UEFI - try both (if you haven't already). As you can tell, I'm running out of ideas.

just for a short ping back: I tried with the two latest files you posted and without kernel option quiet. System hangs after:" loading Kernel ... OK"

and it crashes. I updated ubuntu kernel to 4.18 to see if it boots and it does Sad So I think we have to call it off for the moment.

Thank you very much for your great ideas.

Terribly sorry if this has been covered before in the thread:

I have a Pentium Gold G5600 (Intel HD 630). Currently using a DP -> HDMI 2.0a active converter and 4K HDR videos play in Windows 10. I tried this build and 4K 60 videos play amazingly, however HDR videos don't work (video plays, but color is all wrong and TV doesn't switch to HDR mode). Has Intel not released linux drivers with HDR support?
