Scrapers not working for any Dr Who or Outer Limits
#1
I have two TV Show series I store on my media server, Dr Who and Outer Limits.
I have the entire Outer Limits DVD sets, both old and new series as well as many of the Dr Who DVD sets ripped to my media server.

The naming of the files is exactly as Kodi would want them.
They're ripped into a Dr Who folder in TV shows. Inside each folder is the season. Inside each season are all the season files.

No matter what I do I cannot get anything to scrape them. I have to manually go into Files in Kodi to watch any of them.
Kodi is taking snapshots of the episodes but nothing I do will make them show in the main menu of TV Shows in Kodi.

Does anyone else have this problem and is there anything I need to do special?
No other TV Shows have any issues except for my Dr Who and Outer Limits (and of course they're my favorite sci-fi's )

Make sure you have the latest TVDB scraper. It has been updated recently.
Also try "Doctor Who" instead of "Dr Who".

Hello, thank you so much for replying.
For literally years I've been trying to figure out why Doctor Who and The Outer Limits don't get picked up by the TVDB scraper.
I've tried, and have the files named both ways, ie: Doctor Who and Dr Who as well as The Outer Limits and Outer Limits.
I let TVDB update automatically but also like to force the update manually just so I have the latest and greatest.

Out of all the shows I have recorded these two just don't get picked up.
I went to TVDB via browser to check on the listings and they show both episodes. I even matched the filename to what and how they have
Doctor Who and The Outer Limits listed. ie. TVDB shows Doctor Who and The Outer Limits. They also have some abbreviated as Dr Who.

If someone would post and let me know that they're showing up for them, I'd know it's just me. Smile

I'm not new to Kodi, I've been using it since XMBC was released as my media server.
I'm a bit lazy and like the convenience of ripping and storing so my movies are at my fingertips. Smile

Doctor Who (2005) for the new version and Doctor Who for the old version works for me.

Post a Debug Log which captures you scraping the two shows and we can see what is going wrong.

  1. Enable Debugging mode. Go to Settings>System Settings>Logging and it should be the first option
  2. Restart Kodi
  3. Replicate the problem as described above.
  4. Upload the log to https://paste.ubuntu.com/ manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. With either method post the link back here.
Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs

That is a simple diagnosis for Doctor Who. Error is on line 2032. Item 1i will explain the error and provide (an advanced) solution... https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=336969

Basically, there are too many artwork links for the database field to accomodate.

Hi Karellen,

Changed C06 to LONGTEXT in my global_tvshow table. Working fine now.

Thank you.
