Anyone having a problem with Kodi playing a video from an external source and while playing for a few seconds, restarts the video and picks up where it left off at after opening sequence finishes? This just started happening and it seems to be with only Disney/Pixar movies. If anyone has had this issue and figured out how to fix it i would like to know the fix.

What do you mean by an "external source"? What is the external source?

A Debug Log will be helpful.

Enable Debugging mode. Go to Settings>System Settings>Logging and it should be the first option
Restart Kodi
Replicate the problem.
Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link back here.

I use an external hard drive to view movies. The files are vob not avi or mpeg. I have watched movies this way for years and now certain ones usually Disney/Pixar will play and after a few seconds restart.

I also noticed even though the video starts over to the beginning the run time continues on, it does not go back to zero as the video does. When the opening has run its course the video picks up where the ongoing run time is currently at. It looks like it is loading the video on top of the running video.

You are using an old version of Kodi (not even a stable release of that old version). But I don't think your OS version will allow you to update to a newer version.

Errors at line 1029 with more audio codec errors further on. Others will have to decipher their meaning Wink

Just an update I updated Kodi to 17 6 and the problem still exists. Anyone who has had this problem and resolved it please let me know what the fix is.
