Kodi 18.7 nightly biulds aswell as 18.6 crashes when i play the madalorian or starwars episode 9 on a firestick so i cant provide logs i got the latest adaptative update 2.4.5 ...just to let you know
Reply
Another user had that - it's a kodi issue pretty sure specific to firestick (doesnt do on shield)
Did you try playing back other content (other add-ons etc etc)?
Try disabling framerate switching / dolby vision etc and see if you can find what causes it.

18.7 is close - so if 18.7 nightly is broken - 18.7 may very likely be broken for Firestick as well

Could you quickly try this build:
https://jenkins.kodi.tv/job/Android-ARM/...bi-v7a.apk

Be great if you could post your findings over on this Github issue I have created: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/17904

Sorry. 18.6 and 18.7 crash?
But 19 is fine?

Can you check the version of Inputstream Adaptive your using? Is it only happening with 2.4.5? Was 2.4.4 OK?

2.4.5
was the same with 2.4.4

The problem is still there I believe - but as Kodi is now switching to correct framerate before playback begins - the issue doesn't arise.

Also, that fix has just been backported to 18
So should land in 18.7

Can also download build of it here:
https://jenkins.kodi.tv/blue/organizatio.../artifacts
The above Leia build should be very nice and stable and work with everything nicely.

Is there also a version available for my Odroid C2 (aarch64) running CoreELEC?

I can only find an android version or armv7 for linux.
Reply
CorELEC is using 32bit userland.
Which is great as Widevine doesn't work with 64bit ARM.

So, just use the Linux ARMV7 version from here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?pid...pid2947397

Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019
LG Oled TV
Nightly Kodi 18.7/8
Kodinerds 19 Alpha
Disney+ Version 0.2.9

Films / Series
4K Dolby Version = OK
4K HDR 10 = OK
95% = OK

But somehow it still rattles in the box in the first seconds under Android until it runs smoothly ... although there are no automatic pauses after start ... even if L1 is switched off in the addon ... so it with 720p (no 4K plus Dolby Vision or plus HDR 10) is played ... also with the new Kodi 18.7/8 ... or the new Kodinerds 19 Alpha ... but this is not the case under Windows.

Tested with the series:  The Mandalorian

and with the film:  Togo

So it continues to rattle with the new Nightly Kodi 18.7/8 and Kodinerds 19 Alpha ... which is something like this

In the first approx. 12 seconds from the start of the stream ... So after the first few seconds the Dolby Vision Icon comes ... continues briefly ... then jumps back ... to about 4-5 seconds afterwards no picture
or sound ... then after the second Dolby Vision Icon and from 11-12 seconds everything is back to normal.

The same with HDR 10 ... or without HDR 10 and without Dolby Vision.

Also do not know how to describe it otherwise ... except rattle.

Can this commit help with these errors?

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/17713

Could you please build a test build ... matthuisman ... that might help?

Sorry ...my english is not good...matthuisman.

if your talking about frame skipping - then that's a known issue in Kodi 18.7 and 19
See here: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=354661

that should be fixed with this PR (only merged 21 hours ago):
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/17943

If Kodi nerds build does not have that above commit - then there will be quite a few frame skipping issues on Android.

Can you ask the users to try Kodi 18.6 and see if has issue?

This problem is with this build

Nightly 18.6/7
Release 18.7
Nightly 18.7/8

available ... even after the FIX of @ peak3d
... but not with these Test build Kodinerds 19 Matrix Alpha from May 27th, 2020
... you can use it in parallel on the shield
... this is a test build from Uncle-W on Kodinerds.net

This Commint is now included in this test build.

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/17713

Here is the new test build:

Oh yes, so it's the DMX issue (https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/17713).
Pretty sure that won't be merged in it's current form.

OK, here is Leia builds with that DMX commit in it and latest other fixes from peak.

ARM7 (FireTV 4k):

ARM8 (Nvidia Shield, Mi Box):
