I just build a new computer. It's a gaming pc with a 9900k and a Geforce 2070 super, but I also use it for watching TV, series and movies.

I just installed the newest version for Windows. But starting KODI is immediate followed by a crash. I just see the first screen for 1 second, and then it dumps.

When looking at the log, I see the following (last lines).

Does it have anything to do with my keyboard? Corsair K83?

Any ideas?

Things to look for if Kodi crashes on launch.

- joystick incompatibilities
- dvd in left drive that has a problem
- incompatible hardware.
- missing MS Visual C 2017 runtime package
- gfx engine failure (proper drivers)

Suggest pulling any thing that Kodi might see as a joystick out of the launch and remove any optical disks.

Then we get into obscurities that only a proper debug log would show.

It was indeed a part of the K83 keyboard.
So I disabled one for one all possible HID devices in Windows (in Device Management) until KODI started normal.
It was one of the HIDSystemConsumerDevice entries.

Now everything works ;-)
