Off-topic thread: Frame Drop Issues on Laptop
#1
Hello everyone, Recently my laptop's been having some issues.

While playing games like csgo and dota 2 whenever I play it always starts lagging. They used to work with at least 30 fps but now it's just around 10-15 fps.
Als, the laptop fan is now so loud whenever it speeds up and I can hear some vibration.

Everything else aside from playing games has so far had no problems.
I'm not really an expert on diagnosing and stuff so any form of help will be greatly appreciated.

The forum is specifically for the media player Kodi, and not a system wide support site like https://support.microsoft.com/

In general if your laptop fan is in high gear and your normal applications are sluggish, it would indicate something (running in the background) is multi-tasking and sapping CPU cycles. Suggest you run some diagnosis software or seek help with the web site I listed.

Is your HDD storage almost filled? This might be the reason as once the HDD gets filled above a certain storage amount, the speed of the hdd slows down a lot, resulting in lags and stutters.
Also, let me know which laptop are you using? Can you recommend some good gaming laptops?

Yes, I think I might have to make some space. My storage is about to be full. Will try to clear it and see how it works. Thanks.

I am using an MSI GF65, it has been working great for me. Although it does get heated while doing gaming for long hours, which is obvious. I just found this guide which mentioned some nice options that you can consider.
