Lol! I'm getting no mpaa/bfcc ratings at.all....just a.blank space.

I noticed he did include the icons and the relevant xmls for them (although they’re not quite right since he didn’t include a couple of minor adjustments.

So yes, it should be working. Is this all movies and TV that are missing icons?

Also are your ratings UK, US Or something else and do you know if your scraper has a prefix for MPAA?

I'm in uk and all ratings were working before update.
I now have no ratings for Movies or TV [emoji3525]

Still a great skin, though!

I've used Ember Media Manager to scrape all my media using UK certification/ratings.

Everything worked pre-update.

Looks like something to do with the way Ember is scraping certifications and is beyond my knowledge of how to get that working I’m afraid since I just fumbled my way into switching the text to icons.

You can probably test this by scraping a movie with TMDB default scraper instead of Ember and see If an icon shows.

Beyond that I wouldn’t know where to go but it must be a simple fix for someone in the know. Sorry!

I'll go and check what I uploaded. I have many includesbingie and homebingie XML files. I might have uploaded the wrong one.

Great work! the logo is larger, but I've now lost my UK Ratings on homescreen - I was hoping to get the "proper" colourful BBFC versions as shown in screenshots above.

Apologies but I cannot post screenshot as on mobile.
Not too sure he's done with the current Github version, I haven't checked but my guess is he uploaded the wrong XML's because you shouldn't have lost your ratings, they should just look the same as they previously did.

I don't think the UK age rating icons has gone live yet. I've sent him all the files so it will be up soon I'm sure. Hopefully @AchillesPunks will come in soon and let you know what's going on.
Thanks for reply.

I've checked in the (think it's) extras folder and the colourful bbfc png are there.

I'm probably wrong as I'll admit I have no idea!

I'll downgrade back to original mod for now l.
I just checked and the correct code has been uploaded to the GitHub. There are small changes I have not fixed yet but UK ratings should show if you have properly scraped your media.

In my opinion, and certainly according to the Netflix app I use, there are some significant (and hopefully simple) changes that could be made to make it more authentic and generally more attractive as shown below.

Netlix App

Key differences
Image

1. The clearlogo is much smaller in Bingie. I feel Netlix does a great job filling this space with a large logo for much more interesting visuals.
2. Again, the age rating icon in Netflix looks much prettier visually than having more plain text like the bingie version.
3. Slim menu stays put with the red line indicator and therefore provides a good indicator of the menu screen your currently viewing (guessing this isn't a simple fix!)
4. Plot text and font -
  1. This is another big one for me. Bingie's wall of text, particularly in the justified alignment so its a big square block of text with uneven space between text is really ugly. Netflix handles this so much better, significantly increasing width of the text box all the way to the middle of the screen, so your not staring at a block of text and it's left aligned so space gaps are even. I've looked into this (only in the includeshomebingie.xml) and it's easily fixed by increasing the size of the width text box, changing the "justified" alignment to "left" and also reducing the length of the text box so it only shows 3 lines max of text cutting off the rest of the plot.

  2. The default font for the plot is boring and sterile! Netflix has their own font "Netlix Sans" which is lovely. I've messed around downloading some other fonts to get a similar look but I haven't been quite found one I'm happy with. It takes a fair bit of lengthy trial and error especially since I've just started to explore editing the xml's and trying to learn where everything is!
5. The Poster aspect ratio is completely different in Bingie. It's not just a case of trying to look exactly like Netflix. The Bingie posters are thinner (and taller) so they appear stretched so don't look as good. You can see in Netflix app picture, there are 7.5 posters on screen at any time and Cartman has squeezed in 8 causing detriment to the aspect ratio.

No problem at all if you're not interested in looking into any of this but you seem to be making some improvements for a more authentic Netflix experience. Authenticity isn't something I'm particularly after, just a better design and in my opinion, Netfix's design is more attractive.

I have widened the posters on the home screen and adjusted the height as well.

Will there be an option to switch back to US ratings? I looked but was unable to find anything under the skin settings.

Love the resizing of the posters! Going to check it out on my TV later. Many thanks.

That blue R18 logo that you chose for R rated movies.....that's for porn movies!

I think the only way to use the UK icons accurately is to rescrape movies with UK prefix bcause R rated films are split between 15 and 18 in the UK.  The alternative is to just make a choice between using the 15 icon or the 18 icon for your R Rated films and it kind of makes sense to use the 15 icon since 18 icon already translates to NC-17.
