Solved Screen flickers like crazy when kodi is fullscreen on screen#2 and a program is on #1
#1
19 Matrix Nightly (27th july) Windows 10 x64 2004
So i have Kodi as fullscreen on my tv connected to my gpu and everything else on my other monitor connected to same gpu.
If Chrome or anything else on my second monitor goes fullscreen Windows will throw a fit and "turn on and off (it flickers)" my monitor ever 0.5 sec if not more.
Any idea what's causing this? 18.5 Works fine with same settings.

You don't go into hardware specifics, gfx card, resolutions, scanning rates, connected to the TV via HDMI etc. A debug log would also be helpful.

Sorry!
1060GTX, 1080p 60hz on both monitors, DVI > computer monitor, HDMI > AVR > HDMI > TV.

I can suggest several things that could improve:

1) Update NVIDIA drivers to 451.85 => https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/gef...nload.html
2) Install Kodi "v4.0.3" from here => https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=355800
3) Change resolution for TV to native resolution 4K and add 1080 modes to whitelist (for 1080p content the experience will be the same)

Thanks for trying!
1) Installed 451.85 and that did not help.
2) Kodi "V4.0.3" did not fix it.
3) Can't test it right now, i only get a black screen on 4k (old shitty cables). Hopefully my new ones coming tomorrow enables 4k.

As i said before 18.5 works fine. Strange. Do i need to update Directx 12 or something?

18.8 will be with us shortly.

Looking at the log I see many add-ons, scripts etc that are yet to make the Matrix update; given your extras I suggest a bit of a pause. If you want to push the envelope I would start with a vanilla plain version of Matrix in portable mode, ensure it's functionality before loading up with caution.

Thanks but I'm already using Matrix in portable mode and this is the only negative thing that i have encountered.
Included a phone video of the craziness : https://youtu.be/SR4QP_2KhM4

Might as well add what i have tried without success:
1) Uninstall newest Nvidia drivers (DDU) and reinstall without PhysX - strangely worked fine for like 10 seconds
2) Removed EDID driver and tried with Windows original
3) Disabled fullscreen optimisation (it's enabled, again since it did nothing)
4) Disabled game mode

The log you provided didn't reflect a plain vanilla installation, but more of a carry over of tons of legacy add-ons and scripts, some of which have not had Matrix support at this time. Throw up a log from a stock plain Matrix no advancedsettings.xml, atm: the flipping of the video smacks of a graphic engine driver, but you are running a boat load of extras and it's hard to point directly when there are so many possibilities.

Did as you said and issue still exist: https://paste.kodi.tv/akusabidaq.kodi
Works fine with Nightly before the HDR merge (KodiSetup-20200626-e64b3034-master-x64)

That's the kind of log developers want to see. I note: selected Device 1 is directsound, can you try with waspi and 2 channel audio pass-through. I do have the same video card you have without issues in Matrix (using the alpha night-lies). Just wondering if cutting the AVR out and going direct would eliminate the AVR as a source of the issue?

Set it at wasapi and passthrough also tried directsound from avr and it still bugged out.
Are you using dual monitors?

LG TV and a ASUS Monitor, Nvidia 1060x6 with basically the same hook-up, waspi, hdmi, Onkyo TX-SR333 to the TV and DVI to the asus monitor. 1080p x 60hz all round, all is jake. Of course I use the TV as my second monitor, either in twin, extended or single on either side using the display switch.

This is a little different "Display marantz-AVR (MJI0035 EDID Override)" pulling out the AVR might make sense here, and this "resizing due to size change (1920,0,3840,1080 fullscreen)->(1920,0,3840,1080 fullscreen)" looks like some confusion as to 1080p vs 4K in the same line...Is your TV 4K? From your post "1060GTX, 1080p 60hz on both monitors"  you might want to white list only the obvious resolutions on your test set-up. If you run in windowed mode on the desktop, are you having the same issues?

I see. Is your LG tv HDR?
My tv is 4k but my cables can't handle 4k so i run it in 1080p. I have white listed only 1080p resolutions and 720p.
I tried fullscreen window before that did not work, but as you said windowed mode works!

Edit: Got my new cables that support 4k60 and running Kodi in 4k does not fix the problem sadly Sad

I only wish I had this trouble... no just 8 bit.

I figured it might, the issue only happens when Kodi sets-up a new screen. I don't think this is a graphic memory issue, but do you get this problem if ONLY the TV is up? I'm starting to think deeper into the graphic card and it's ability to throw up two large displays. Cables might impact the bandwidth but doubt it has much less to do with this issue. Are you using GeForce Experience? Now that you have better cables, I would be looking at the jogal post #4 (author of those custom patches for 4K HDR)

I see mention of flicker issues on the card in some Nvidia forums with suggestions:

Download the 442.74 Driver: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/44...l-whql.exe Download DDU 18.0.2.6 or Newer: http://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/displ...6-released

But it would seem a backward step; how did sans AVR work out?

I had the same problem - it is the problem of the Windows compilation itself and the screen refresh / poor resource management error. It can be solved in this way - increase the priority of the process - from normal to "above normal" (never real time). The downside is that you have to do this every time you run kodi.
