Audio drops when I turn off my monitor
#1
The audio stops working for 2 seconds (or so) when I turn my television off.  This is kind of a drag because I like to put on an album or a playlist and then turn off the TV since there's no reason to leave it on and waste energy.  Here's how it goes down:  I turn my TV off.  The image goes off almost immediately.  23 seconds later, the TV clicks like it's going into a sleep mode or something.  At this 23s event is when the audio cuts out.  Audio comes back and sounds normal.  Then if I turn the TV back on, I get a similar drop out as soon as it comes back on.

I tried this same process while playing an MP3 with windows media player, and the audio did not drop out.  It sounded fine when I turned the TV on and off.

Here's my rig:
Zotac Z box with W10
USB output to a Schiit Modi 2 DAC
HDMI output to a Toshiba TV

Here's a log of this event happening:

Thanks in advance everyone!

You could use a Kodi smart phone and tablet remote app and you can play music without needing your TV on at all.

I also have an AVR app so I can play any album, track or playlist and change volume while I’m outside in my yard having a BBQ.

Best addition to my Kodi system ever!
