Yes i followed his guide, he's my friend, but he doesn't own anymore the Cubieboard so he can't help me. Have you ever tried XBMC on Cubieboard?
I don't have cubieboard I have minixplus device which has the same crappy all winner hardware..
As for cubieboard I can tell you that there's a forum for your device and I've found there this thread:

Which has xbmc binaries ready to use.. So check this think..
Also you can try Hackbmc v0.02 which has an xbmc Linux image with cedarx hardware acceleration + libhybris which seems to run videos smooth...
Try those things..
BTW for everyone here I've tried xbmc Gotham alpha 8 and 9 builds for android and they play some 720p movies very good! (I've tried to play "the hangover")
But whebn I tried to play some TV shows (like arrow and vikings) the result was catastrophic
All the builds after alpha 9 can't even play any video with acceleration its just turning to black screen and my xbmc crash...
The point is that some 720p movies works with hardware acceleration really good with alpha 9 build...
Can HackBMC be used also with Cubieboard? How to "flash" it to the SD card?
