I get the information, that I have got the 295.40 NVidia driver version (from the NVIDIA X Server Settings GUI). Might it help to downgrade the driver to 290.X?
How can I do this?

I forgot....I downloaded the 290.10 version already. But I don't know how to install or replace it.
