I still think the animation is going far too far. As a boot screen animation it's good, but for the start up of software it's an archaic idea. Kodi is optimised enough that it doesn't require a long time to start. Obviously that's from my tests on my own hardware, which includes a RPi, Atom and Turion. All three of those are low powered and slow and there's rarely a time where they take more than a second or two to start.
It's the same reason I disable the splash screen - that adds more loading time from clicking the button to being able to access my media.
