I don't know a lot of technical things, but I have recently replaced my RP3+HiFiberry with the C2 and all I can say is the C2 is snappier and the image quality is much better. I solved the passthrough problem with a HDMI audio extractor (since the HiFi shield didn't work at the moment I got the C2) and I'm very pleased with my new media player
