I think the issue is that the codec driver (rt5663) which works in conjunction with the snd_soc_skl driver fails to load, so no outputs get enumerated. Blacklisting snd_soc_skl allows the snd_hda_intel driver to be used instead, which successfully enumerates the HDMI outputs. I've not had a chance to look into it much, and since the blacklisting works w/o issue, I didn't have much impetus to do so
And for the Kaby Lake issue, is there anything we/I can do to work around this in the image or is it a kernel issue (which I suspect it is) and hopefully this will be fixed in 5.0 or 5.1...?
