Try restarting your STB and rerunning however you update your guide data. After that restart kodi and see what happens.

Have tried that and will see if that fixes the issue. I've been tinkering between using EIT and Rytec data as Openvix now support my device and I'm using their latest image, so maybe that's caused a conflict somewhere. I've noticed lately that most of my shows are returning genre as either 'Series' or 'Show/Game Show'. At first I thought the problem was at the Kodi end, but checking the source guide data on the STB this how the genre tag is being captured. Guess something must have changed in how the source data is collected as 90% of shows now all show the same genre....
