link to NetFlix Viewer Windows program you can start from XBMC
I gave up on XBMC Flicks finally and this is the substitute I use because XBMC is still the center of the TV universe for me. It is a Windows only solution unfortunately. It has decent remote control capability and a useable but ugly interface and can be launched from XBMC with advanced launcher.
XBMC Flicks is pretty much dead at this point. I am sure some people are getting use out of it but I think fresh installs are not possible any more for various reasons. 1 is the existing developer keys seem to be disabled, at least the ones propagated on this thread. 2 is the incomplete support for the original user interface menu tree because NetFlix modified their url calls and doesn't support them any more except to device manufacturers.
Additional rants on this add-on - it's not the developers fault the Netflix didn't continue to support the original API or publish the updates to PC developers.
Because of the modified calls at the TV epsiode level the user will not see episode numbers even though they are in the right order. This problem was there from the beginning for the XBMC version - it couldn't or wouldn't remember if finished watching something. That is a minor pain.
The available internal queries to existing PC developers now require that they - pc interface developers - download the entire database or at least all of the users Queue just to make a coherent presentation.
I'm done.
My hope is that NetFlix extends there key stroke interface that works pretty well during video playback in browsers to the rest of their user interface. That would be something they actually might do and it would allow XBMC to launch the browser to NetFlix and allow the user to navigate around and play videos. It would work and wouldn't be too hard for them to do.
