I have seen people with issues concerning locally saved images. could you please dispel my fear of losing or overwriting my custom stuff and clarify that my local images will be cached by xbmc before I upgrade Many thanks
Local Artwork works fine for me
Enable Use local Files
Configure what you want AD to retrieve(i.e. Poster,logo...)
disable all the other stuff you dont want
Make sure all your art are in media area (...movies\movie_name\artwork.jpg (or TBN if coming from eden))
Run AD
I should scan all your folder and only download what is missing based on what you asked it to look for
My only issue right now is that i keep getting "Error Downloading" when i try to go get Artwork by hitting Info on a show and selecting Artwork . Also if you go into a show at season Level and press info and select Artwork, it doesnt work at all. I dont know what the problem is and havent seen Martijn comment on any issues as of late...
Does it actually work like that? In my testing it did not download missing stuff unless you select the overwrite all existing artwork option. But i hate doing this, it takes forever, and re-downloads everything.
It scans everything but only downloads the stuff missing(if overwrite is off of course). So if your settings were to download Logos, Clearart and Landscape (16:9 Thumbs) then scan, TVshow A has logo, clearart but no landscape, and TVshow B has everything and TVshow C has only Landscape, Tvshow A should only get lanscape downloaded, TVshow B shouldnt change and C should get Log and Clearart. Thats how it worked for me when i tested it.

Yes because I have no other media manager or anything else artwork related other than this. I believe this got installed with either Aeon Nox or reFocus Big and that it when it automatically downloaded all the artwork and created folders extrafanart and extrathumbs.

I am on Frodo RC3.
I have just found the centralized option and set paths in there, and am forcing an update now. Let's see what happens

Right so now with the centralized paths set the artwork saves in both the film and episode folders as well as the specified artwork folders. Is that supposed to happen?

What is the point of the centralized feature then? Am I missing something here?

I have searched Google, read the Wiki and searched this thread and can not find any clear information on this feature other than a post saying you thought it was pointless and should never have been included. Any chance you could point me in the right direction of the information I seek please?

Nope, but for some reason it decided to download the same James Bond disc art for every movie I added to the library today, none of which were James Bond movies. Didn't have logging enabled, so only time will tell if this was just a fluke.

could someone refresh my memory on how to keep AD from creating directories and downloading artwork for shows which i have deleted from my database?
