This may just be a rom issue but on some roms I cannot get any response either from controller or indeed keyboard.

Has anyone encountered this before?
Normally gamepad controls are natively managed by emulators. I don't think you need to use xpadder for this. Just setup your emulator to use gamepad or keyboard.Confused

Got it!

I forgot to change the argument when changing from zsnes to snes9x
Just added the xbmc to my ipad and it works perfect.
The question now is can my kid play ds or wii games using advance launcher? Can anyone point me where to read about it
if it is possible.
Thanks, joe.

There is no DS or Wii emulator on iPad. The reason is simple. The iPad is not enough powerful to emulate these 2 systems. So the reply is no.
I apologize if I am being stupid, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to set this up! I am running Eden on Ubuntu 11.10. I have dolphin set up and can successfully launch it from the command line using "dolphin-emu". When I try to set up a launcher the first thing it asks is the application path and defaults to my home directory. I cannot navigate to /usr/bin/dolphin-emu. Do I need to set up a script in my home folder? I have used this addon to launch Chromium and Spotify using a script like this:

#!/bin/bash
fluxbox &
/usr/bin/chromium-browser
killall -9 fluxbox

However that doesn't seem like it would be the right way to go about setting up an emulator. I have been going through this tread and the wiki, but I am stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If you cannot navigate into /usr/bin/dolphin-emu that's mean that you have not added the / (root directory) as source into XBMC.

Add Network or Local drives

It will be possible that, for your first use of Advanced Launcher, you will be not able to see or access any of your network or local drives. To solve this you will have to do the following: Go back to the XBMC home-screen and select the "System" item (assuming you are using the "Confluence"-Skin which is default) - do not open the menu-item! -and press the down arrow to select the "File Manager" submenu. In the next screen add a source via the "Add Source" entrie. Now technically it does not matter what you add as a source. In order to use your whole hard-drive just add the whole hard drive to the sources, you won’t have any side-effects (except you will have to navigate more while creating new launchers).

Thank-you Angelscry for patiently explaining something that was very clearly outlined in the wiki ;-) I feel like a dumb-ass.

I have managed to get the launcher created, but it now crashes each time I try to launch the game. I didn't have anything in /usr/bin/dolphin-emu, but I did have /usr/share/applications/dolphin-emu.desktop. Is that the right executable file for Linux? If it helps I have the xbmc.log here.

Nevermind, I woke up this morning and "which dolphin-emu" popped into my head. I can now get Dolphin to start, but I'm afraid my Revo isn't going to be powerful enough to run it. Video is hella choppy Sad I'll look into it more tonight. Thanks for the help, though!

PS - It was /usr/games/dolphin-emu.
I think you will have better results if you try suspend or close XBMC while running Dolphin. You will found .sh script for this here :
I scrapped my snes library through gamesdb. It downloaded all the artwork successfully but when I goto the folder it doesn't show the artwork. I'm missing something.

My folder structure looks like this:

Emu
- Snes emu
- Romfiles
-- snes roms
---covers
---fanart
*.smc

All artwork are named after their romfile titles.

Got it working had to refresh and restart!
Where does the addon save the nfos for games after scraping? I scraped on my laptop and want to transfer to my desktop but it didn't save nfos in the rom folder. I looked in the users> appdata> etc couldn't find anything..

When I open Adv Launcher, I can only see my DVD drive. It's a laptop so it's not convenient to unplug it. Do you have any suggestions?

If you have any DVD, CDROM, or external hard-drive plugged to your system, remove it. In some case it also fix the problem.

Thank you Angelcry.
Now I got a laptop intel core 2 duo. Can I get the mario games on it and how can I do it?

You need to found emulators of the Wii and NDS systems. Then install them on your laptop. Then into Advanced Launcher you need to create 2 files launchers (one for the Wii and one for the NDS).

You will found a Youtube tutorial here how to create files launchers : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDjA68OY0wM
There is also a part into the Advanced Launcher user guide explaining how to create a files launcher : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4#p4
Finally you will found files launcher configuration for Wii and NDS systeme here : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Wii and http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Nintendo_DS

Hey Angelscry:

First off, I'd like to say thank you for such an amazing plugin! The amount of work you've done on this has been really great.

So, I've been reorganizing my games library to more closely match my movies/music/tv shows. I'm currently using the following folder structure:

games
- <console>
---- <game folder>
-------- rom.bin
-------- fanart.jpg
-------- cover.jpg

This structure feels much more in tune with how xbmc organizes files. My question is, is it possible to use the %rompath% variable outside of the args path?

Ideally, I would like to be able to specify %rompath% within the fanart and thumb nodes in launchers.xml (and eventually maybe even a <trailer> node :-) ). Here is an example:

Code:
<rom>
    ...
    <filename>/media/games/snes/Zelda/zelda.bin</filename>
    <fanart>%rompath%fanart.jpg</fanart>
    <thumb>%rompath%cover.jpg</thumb>
    ...
</rom>

This would ultimately result in fanart being found at /media/games/snes/Zelda/fanart.jpg, and thumb at /media/games/snes/Zelda/cover.jpg.

Is this possible in any way?

Again, thanks for all of your hard work.
