Switch from Internal Laptopscreen to HDMI
#1
Hey XBMC Forum Users,

I just installed XBMCBuntu on my Acer Aspire 7730z notebook.
It uses an 9300m GS from NVidia and comes with a HDMI out.
I connected it to my Panasonic P50VT30 TV, but cant figure out how to
switch from the Internal LCD screen to the TV over HDMI.

Btw, this is my first time using Linux.

Thnx in Advance,

Vashan

Are you using the Aspire just for XBMC and want HDMI out only? Or also using the laptops LCD for applications in Ubuntu?

If only out then check the following
XBMC Live on Laptop with TV
Dual Monitors: Laptop and HDMI
Video on HDMI over XBMC

Personally, I have a script that if there is a connection to a external video port, IE; VGA or HDMI, then the Laptop screen is switched off. Not blank, but off as in no backlight either. If there is no connection to external port, then turn laptop screen on.

This way allows using as a laptop whenever I want.

If interested I'll try and find the script for ya.

Would you be willing to share your script with me?
