OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi
(2012-10-17, 05:48)Wanderlei Wrote: One problem that has been around for a while now on all R-Pi versions of xbmx is with omxplayer.

It tends to truncate the last part of video and audio files, I think it was to do with it not playing out the buffer correctly at the end of video/audio files.

Another one is the audio distortion at the beginning of video/audio files.

And don't forget that it doesn't support gapless playback of music anymore. Earlier versions of OpenElec did.

Think i found your issue : https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/1627

Thank you!!!

i have run into a recent problem with builds after r12031. I use a weird skin (confluence-lite-mod: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add...e_Lite_Mod ), and it has worked in all builds r12031 and prior. I am currently on r12089 and I can download/install it fine, and it runs fine until I have to reboot the pi. As soon as I reboot the pi it goes to the splash screen then black screen and never loads the GUI. I can ssh in and xbmc.bin is running, but nothing is being displayed. I didn't notice the problem until I started using builds after r12031. All other skins work fine and I can boot into them no problem (I have tested aeon nox, xeebo, pm3). Just this one skin, really weird occurrence imo. Sorry if I am not posting enough info or in the wrong spot. Thanks guys!

Maybe incompatible with newer version. Tell the skinner to fix it.
gimli, any news on http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/13419 ?

Do I have to do something else or just wait?
thks

Nope, wait for an updated version of xbmc and test it again.
But is it really a XBMC error?
If its not assigned to anyone, how an updated version will have the fix for it?
thks

1 : Patience, do not bug develeopers every 5 minutes.
2 : All builds for the PI are based on xbmc master ( pre fordo ) which is by definition a developer version. Bugs float in and out.
Ok, sorry. I didn't know about that. thanks for enlighten me

Can you do another test with OpenELEC?
Can you scrap/scan your TV shows without error?
After scan/scrap, the databases are updated and the new files are shown at the library?
See this:
http://openelec.tv/forum/124-raspberry-p...5?limit=20
Not sure if it was fixed.

I think there's no XBMC issue opened with this problem. I couldn't find.
At Raspbmc the problem still occurs

thanks

I havn't noticed any problems (running r12080) added one tv series yesterday and it is shown in the library as on the first page (under tvshows)... But I update to the latest as soon as I see that there is a new one... Its always exciting to see what new/fixed features there are Smile Sometimes it gets worse but usually these great developers make it even better. Keep up the good work!!!

Maybe i should have mentioned that and say it clear that the GUI scaling only belongs to GUI and not video rendering.

Quote:View mode: Normal
Sizing (1920,1080)->(1280,720) (Zoom x1.00) AR:1.78:1

Screen resolution: [email protected] - Full screen

If change "Normal" to "Original Size"

Quote:View mode: Original Size
Sizing (1920,1080)->(1920,1080) (Zoom x1.57) AR:1.78:1

Screen resolution: [email protected] - Full screen

and picture is ZOOMED.

Conclusion:

EVERYTHING is scaled to 720p, not only GUI.

With new 512mb board I keep getting corrupted files.

With r12015 and latest start.elf, boots fine but on reboots it gets stuck at the logo screen, 'error cannot mount such and such'. Re-imaged and kept trying but it continued to happen.

Tried r12089 which is the latest I could find but it didnt have a start.elf for 512mb boards, updated to new start.elf and it wont boot at all, passes splash screen but stays black, Any overclocking via config.txt results in corruption, needs to be re-imaged.

Edit
I did have a bit more success with going back to a earlier revision of OpenELEC (r12015)

R-Pi 512mb
arm_freq=800
sdram_freq=450
core_freq=300
gpu_freq=300 Works

arm_freq=850
sdram_freq=450
core_freq=325
gpu_freq=325 Works

arm_freq=900
sdram_freq=500
core_freq=350
gpu_freq=350 Corrupts Files

I went back again to r12089 but it still continues to never boot up with anything other than the start.elf it comes packaged with and any overclock corrupts.

I think its a case of my new 512mb being a bit less overclockable and revisions of OpenELEC being temperamental about using start.elf, loader.dol, bootcode.dol that dont come packaged with that revision.

Although with older start.elf on 256mb board I never experience any file corruption from overclocking. It was just a matter of changing config.txt and rebooting to recover, now I only way I know to recover is to re-image.

Not for me. Can you delete your guisettings.xml file and try again?

Delete guisettings.xml and still scalling to 720p.

Play Avatar in 1080p and....

Sizing (1920,1080)->(1280,720) (Zoom x1.00) AR:1.78:1

Screen resolution: [email protected] - Full screen

change to "Oryginal Size" and picture is zooming.

r12080.

I don't know for the last part of video/audio files, but the missing gapless playback is pretty annoying, especially for Live albums playback. Since it already worked with an earlier build, why does this seem so hard to fix?
