OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi
Hi!

OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel-20121115112114-r12473 doesn't recognize my keyboard anymore. Neither a wireless one nor a wired one. So it's unusable for me now. It's the first time that this is happening now.
I didn't upgrade my installation, but installed it from scratch again.

/usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin --standalone -fs --lircdev /var/run/lirc/lircd

Yes, there is something odd there. like i said before, i compiled the same release but altered the compilations option removing some stuff that i don't need and it behaves properly 8% cpu load

What stuff you are removing??.

here is my file
i'm inclined to say the thing making the difference is LCD_DRIVER="none" , this was one of the things changed in the latest commits

You also need modprobe lirc_rpi and lircd. Check 1st post on http://openelec.tv/forum/124-raspberry-p...d-snapshot.
Is the 100% cpu load solved in 12490?

  • Intel NUC Kit DN2820FYKH ~ Crucial DDR3L SO-DIMM 4GB ~ SanDisk ReadyCache 32GB SSD ~ Microsoft MCE model 1039 RC6 remote
No.. Can also confirm constant 100% CPU load in r12492 using top. Also when watching movies.. :/
Plus the system only soft boot ie reloads XBMC when choosing reboot and runs at only half the fps in GUI.
I think LCD drivers use 100% CPU. I compile now r12492 without LCD drivers and see.

Reboot not working properly. Only reload XBMC.

12487 has resolved the remote control problems I detailed a few posts ago, but has, for me, introduced a new one. Selecting shutdown causes a reboot. The onlyway to shutdown is to switch off the power supply.
LCD driver use 100% Cpu. I compile r12492 without LCD drivers and cpu usage back to normal.

PS. Without LCD driver soft reboot working properly.

OpenElec Build r12492 without LCD driver (Normal Cpu usage and soft reboot working properly) with GUI 1080p.

Thanks Caravela for tips Smile

Thanks for identifying the problem, and provide a binary for now. Much appreciated!

Best regards tuxen
And just as I wrote that there came a fixed r12493. Heh..
Very interesting to checkout your 1080p build though, staying with this for a while.

Thanks to the team for being so insanely fast, what would we do without them!
And very nice to see B1 in the build info btw.
Using r12492. The menus all seem snappy but I'm having a big problem that I always seem to have with OpenElec. I have a reference file I use which is simply Avatar BD ripped as an h.264 file. It's about 10GB in size. It simply won't play with OE. I get the "working" and I usually hear 2 seconds of audio after about 30 seconds of working. Then it hangs and nothing. Sometimes it will eventually crash out.

What's strange is that this same file plays perfectly fine on Raspbmc. Looks great in fact. Raspbmc has it's own issues with crashing in other situations so I'd almost prefer to use OE but I can't as long as this problem is happening.

I'm using an original RPi with 256mb. And the 1080p GUI looks spectacular in this build!

where are you playing it from ? SMB, NFS, USB (filesystem) ?
can you give a media info on the file as well (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en)
did you try overclocking, by default there is none in OE.
