I had a (very cheap) 2Gb card, it was fine, then overnight it just corrupted the second partition (FAT), from that point on, no matter what i did it couldn’t write to that partition, i formatted it, then it would work, after the first boot it was corrupted.
I bought a new Micro SD card (Class 10), this time it has a FAT primary and EXT2 primary as well, no issues so far.
The problem here is i know if the hardware has a fault ive known USB adapters corrupt and put physical bad sectors on a SATA disk, so any hardware controller can physically damage a storage medium.
I have found the less i power cycle the RPI the less issues i had, as there didn’t seem to be a way of powering it down without corrupting the second partition (the one its writing to mostly).
