OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi
@popcornmix: Can the 1080i mode be enabled? I just tried the latest build rbej posted with your patch but I can't select the 1080i res because of this:

From your PR:

Quote:Also previously if 1920x1080p and 1920x1080i were supported they would both show up as valid resolutions, but when selected, the progressive version was forced, so the option in the resolutions list was redundant. I now only add interlaced modes to resolution list if they are unique

That was how it worked before: I could select 1080i but 1080p was used instead. The problem is 1080i livetv HD channels are almost unwatchable on my TV but if I could select the 1080i res, the TV would handle the deinterlacing.

Thanks in advance.
Is possible GUI in 1080i??.

No. It is much more complicated than just playing an interlaced video and setting the TV to an interlaced mode.
There is no guarantee that the framerates or resolutions match, and there is no logic to output odd and even fields of video on the corresponding odd and even frames of display.

Thanks for the explanation.
@popcornmix: Did you by chance noticed my 2 posts above, about 3D not working in 1080p in a 512 RPi?
3d not working in GUI 1080p on my last (r19012013) custom build??.

If dont work try GUI 900p.

PS. Patch for 3d has just been added to master Xbmc Smile

http://www.mediafire.com/?10456ccz13ard

- OpenElec build r13021
- Xbmc build RC3 (19.01.2013) with last (19.01.2013) updated fix for playing 3d movies.
- Rpi kernel 3.6.y (14.01.2013)
- Rpi firmware (16.01.2013)
- Pvr Addon (18.01.2013)
- Xvdr Addon (11.01.2013)
- Gpu memory set to 100mb on default (fix kernal killing Xbmc task on Rpi 256mb board)
- Memory cache set to 2621440 on default
- GUI resolution switch (taken from XBIAN)

Add to advencedsettings <guires>XXXX</guires>

XXXX = GUI resolution. 480p,720p,900p,1080p. <guires>720</guires>, <guires>1080</guires> etc...

Update Instruction:

http://openelec.tv/installation/updating

For Rpi 512Mb set gpu_mem=256, cachemembuffersize to 5242880 and change GUI to 1080p.

For Rpi 256Mb set gpu_mem=100, cachemembuffersize to 2621440 and change GUI to 900p.

or clean install:

http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php?title=...spberry_Pi

When trying to upgrade from you previous custom build to this one (following the update instruction above), my RPi stopped on reboot on the Pi colour screen. I have my SYSTEM partition on SD and STORAGE on a USB pen.

When I connected the SD card in a Linux environment, I understood that my SYSTEM partition was corrupted. Strange, as this had never happened to me before...

Afterwards, I decided to follow the clean install procedure (so the SYSTEM partition was created from scratch), but I could only do it successfully after manually changing the file 'CREATE_SDCARD' attributes to be executable (after unpacking from ZIP file, it was not). After this, everything seems to be normal again...

Don't know if these 2 issues can be something in your distribution or somehow related to my installation, but still decided to let you know.

It's not clear which build you are using, and the 3DSBS/3DTAB pull request only got accepted last night, so it would be useful to try again with the next build.
However I don't understand how it can fix your reported problem.

3D Half SBS, just outputs a normal sized image, width the left eye's image on the left and the right eye's image on the right.
The 3D-SBS mode signalling is just an out of band packet saying switch to 3D-SBS mode. It should make no difference if we send this, or if you manually press 3D button on TV.

You seem to be seeing a correct 3D-SBS image (i.e. left eye on left, right eye on right). You say your TV knows it is in 3D mode, which should make it combine these two images.
Can you manually enable/disable 3D mode on the TV? What effect does it have on the picture?
Suppose you disable "Sync display to video" in xbmc settings, then play the 3D video. Then manually turn on 3D. Does that work?

Let's not spend effort now, I will try it again with the next build then. Will wait for rbej to compile and then will report.
Tested with HSBS and latest nightly, seems to work perfect.
I use standard GUI at 720, but video in 1080.

Problem seems to be with GUI at 1080p, but currently waiting for next release to check again.
There might be one thing, but I am not sure I understand this function.
I have a 24p TV and normally XBMC adjust the display framerate to 24Hz if video has this frame rate.

It use to do this for 3D movies as well, but with the new nightly it changes to 50Hz instead.
Is this a bug or does this have a purpose?

Is the video SBS or TAB? What does:
tvservice -m CEA
report?

Can you dump edid with:
tvservice -d ~/edid.dat
and upload the file somewhere (e.g. dropbox).
