[RELEASE] Spotimc: Another Spotify music addon
Just copy all that and paste it at Pastebin.com and posts the link instead of pasting it here on the forums. Keeps it's cleaner and easier to read Smile

Stunning looking script. Installed perfectly however no songs play. The script returns either "One or more items has failed to play. Check the log file for details." Or "Playlist - Can't find a next item to play". It seems a few of us are having this problem.

Lovely work so far and can't wait for this to be up and running! +1 for getting yatse working with it and for playing music out of the script.

EDIT: Forgot to say that I had Windows Firewall & my Antivirus both disabled. Windows 7 SP1.

After updating to 12.1 my Spotimc does not plays tracks anymore either.

My spotimc addon refuses to play any tracks (it used to work until a few days ago). I have tried removing and reinstalling the addon but with no luck. I'm running Frodo on Ubuntu 12.10. Excerpt from logs here

Yes everybody has the 416 error now and makzolain fixed it too: https://github.com/mazkolain/pyspotify-c...ba71a62d7a

Just have to wait for a new build.

SOLVED

When I was starting Spotimc for the first time since upgrading Eden to Frodo 12.1 on Linux I got a splash screen saying something about a skin update. I pressed yes. After the update I can't start XBMC anymore. It just shows the background image and the X-mouse pointer and then crashes out.

Any ideas what this might be?

--------

Turns it somehow XBMC started reacting to "wins" in nsswitch.conf. Had worked fine for years before. Strange but nvm Smile

Still works for me on Xbmcbuntu 12.0. Shouldn't it? Smile

Update: Forget it. It only affects 12.1 it seems.

I compiled PySpotifyCtypesProxy.egg from the modified source by mazkolain and now have SpotiMC working on XBMC 12.1
If you are adventurous and can't wait for the next official addon release version you can download it and overwrite the version that you have on your system.
Make sure you restart XBMC after doing this (or have XBMC stopped when you replace the file) otherwise it will not work.

1) Download the compiled egg here: removed, there is a beta4 out now !
2) Put the file you downloaded here: %APPDATA%\XBMC\addons\script.audio.spotimc\resources\libs\ overwriting the file that was present.
3) Restart XBMC

you can download it

When I download it as zip, this is not complete, or do you mean, download the official one (1.0 beta 3) and overwrtite?

I think you loaded the page just before I edited my incomplete comment - check the full explanation above.

I have edited the explanation to be even more clear.

Great app but the beta 3 no longer works with Openelec 3.0.
