OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2
(2013-08-15, 09:21)Koloss Wrote: Stop this Build!!!

I tested, play movie and Fast Forward and it crash! The Pi did not Reboot!
Hanging on xbmc Logo.

I've just tested fast forward/rewind with this build and local and online (iPlayer) files. No problems.

uinput seems not to be loaded at boot time.
modprobe uinput and restart lircd worked for me.

I'll try it in my own build and see what happens..

Edit:
Confirmed.

And did it crash again or not?

@rbej
Could you try this in RPi kernel config; CONFIG_INPUT_UINPUT=y
Got this from OE devs. Maybe it solves IR issues.
I just started clean compile so can take a while before i can test it myself.
I have problems since the new update!

the hangs on xbmc media center logo

rbej or popcornmix please look the Logfiles:

Sometimes the Pi start, not ever!

When I disconnect the LAN cable, the Pi starts with no problems.

I have another SD-Karte with old build, the pi starts with no problems.
We have 2 reboot problems with builds:

Problems
1. The Pi reboot button did not reboot, Restart only disconnect power cable and connect
2. Reboot button restart but it hangs on xbmc media center logo, disconnect lan cable before the pi restarts

Like i said, works here for me.
I installed this update and cannot get my pi to boot.. before scratching my sdcard and starting over.. can i save my config somehow out of the card on my laptop?

if so.. what file(s) should I save?
@laric: Who stop the pi?
Disconnect the LAN cable and then boot!
doesnt boot without lan either Sad
Haven't tried it in past builds but in the most recent Gotham release video calibration is broken. Overscan settings work, but pixel ratio doesn't update. Changing overscan leaves you with wrong pixel ratio and the UI is squished. Tried deleting guisettings and updating and issue still occurs.

How do you update your library in this build? The context menu options have changed and update library is gone.
I'm finding using Music extremely slow.

I scanned my music files (11177) on my PC and then transferred the database and thumbnails across, as I knew the inital scan would be quite slow on the RPi.

I've taken the timings from the log rather than try and time it on-screen but I think I've used the right times.

Entering Genre view (13:44:08 - 13:44:11) or Albums (13:44:33 - 13:44:37) is bearable but Artists is very slow (13:44:13 - 13:44:31) and Songs even worse (13:44:43 - 13:45:41)

I've updated a few tags, so started a Library Update on the RPi but that's crawling along. (13:47:57 - 14:56 to do 110 folders, only another 529 to go!)

Clearly I can't wait 5+ hours to update the Library every time I add some music or update some tags. What do other people do, just update on the PC and then copy the database and thumbnails across every time? I don't want to use a MySQL database as then the PC will have to be on before I boot the RPi and that's not going to make updating the Library using the RPi any quicker, so I'd still have to run XBMC on the PC to do that.

Think it's alright in the 23/07 build I'm using. At least I haven't noticed any squishing after calibrating it.
This looks weird. I tried to do Stop Scanning and instead it seemed to get a little spurt and jump ahead. Looking at the log though, it seems it's just gone through all the folders it's already scanned and decided that they haven't changed again and so can be skipped. Now it's slow again and Stop Scanning doesn't actually stop it, so I'll have to reboot.
