[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
(2013-10-30, 19:04)nerdmastax Wrote: i am having one peculiar issue, my left and right arrow keys act differently on live tv. i normally set it to 30 sec forward 7 back, ordinary network ptv channels do fine, live tv acts real funky and buggy, forward does fine, backward needs rapid pressing for any progress and stops working more every time you hit left.

after resetting the timeline by the bar you can do it a lil more, but it still takes two left presses to go 7 seconds back

This doesn't sound like it has anything to do with PTVL, but the XBMC player.

Hi Luna - I had a couple of ideas for features last night. I know these may never reach your list, but hey, here they are for your consideration anyway.

1) Make PTVL Seasonally Aware. e.g. Its Halloween week at the moment and cable networks are playing a lot of Horror movies. A lot of television shows play their Halloween specials. It would be kind of cool if PTVL did this too on its own. Same for Christmas.

2) A child friendly option which could be added to channels one at a time or all at once. The idea for this is lets say the users wants to say, between 06:00 and 15:00 a certain channel will only play items which are rated Universal to PG. From 15:00 to 21:00 only play things between PG-12 and 15s. From 21:00 to 06:00 it can play anything from 15s to unrated.

I think both ideas would really only work well on channels built from XBMC library content. What do you think? Thoughts?
The seasonal concept is actually very easy to make happen. I have two seasonal based channels in my set up (one for Halloween and one for Christmas) all you need to do is create a playlist for each holiday and set it to pull episodes that have the word "Halloween" and "Christmas" in their plots.
Thanks. Yeah I have the same thing done here. Was just a thought that the auto tuned channels might take advantage of it so it might seem a bit more fully integrated.
Should BCTs only apply to TV network channels?

More variety is always better. And as someone that only uses genre based channels I obviously want BCT's to apply to genre based channels too. Lol
i would want them on all my channels.
I think it will be overwhelming... and there is no easy way to have it ignore one channel over the other... so I have to use chtypes... needless to say Livetv, internettv, youtube and rss will not have bcts.
I think I will limit it to tv networks and tv genres

Well ya know my vote...TV genre channel types need BCT's IMO.

Pulled latest and ran auto tune, getting black screen, I only have TV and Movies setup for auto tune, no music, live tv, etc.

log http://pastebin.com/LShiPJu6

You need to enable xbmc log debugging, then send me the log right after the error or crash

Here is the link to the log file with debug on.

Thanks

Please narrow down which autotune is giving you problems, then run only that and send log... Your getting a encoding error ( easy to fix).

Hi
i dont know if this was asked before.
any chance this can support TVHEADEND ?
that way we can have live TV with the already configured TVHEADEND that is working with the built in TV in XBMC.
thanks

PTVL already supports pvr plugins... if you're running tvheadend xbmc pvr plugin, follow examples in post 2

Hi Luna - I downloaded the latest master and tried Autotune again. Still the same black screen when I attempt to include TV Networks, but if I switch it off, all works. Here is the log, this time with debug enabled.

Cheers
