Hello guys,
I made the mistake of choosing to have PVR when I installed XBMC, and would like to get rid of any mention of PVR. I've searched here but cannot find anything the describes "uninstall PVR".
Thanks,
Mark.

pvr is an integral part of XBMC. you can't remove it. you can disable the PVR manager by going to system -> PVR and uncheck the setting.

the only option you see in the setup is the question whether you want to install pvr add-ons too. these add-ons are all disabled by default. what error messages related to pvr do you see?

1. Disable all PVR addons
2. Disable the PVR functionality from System -> Live TV -> Enabled
3. Optionally you can hide the LIVE TV menu item from your skin settings.

I have the same issue - I have disabled "Live TV" in settings (and uninstalled all PVR add-ons) but still get the "No PVR clients have been started" every time I start xbmc .. not major but annoying.
I also deleted all TV and EPG db files in userdata
Any ideas anyone ?

Check your guisettings.xml to see that it really has been disabled.

Thanks. Not the issue assuming below means settings have taken (and it is disabled).
<pvrmanager>
<backendchannelorder>false</backendchannelorder>
<enabled>false</enabled>
<hideconnectionlostwarning>true</hideconnectionlostwarning>
<syncchannelgroups>false</syncchannelgroups>
<usebackendchannelnumbers>false</usebackendchannelnumbers>
</pvrmanager>

Indeed it seems to be disabled. What version of XBMC is this? Add a debug log as well.

It seems XBMC tries to open the PVR window on startup.

Thanks for the pointers .. I tested 12.3 which did not show the problem so I did a completely clean install of latest nightly and it no longer happens

I have a somewhat similar situation. I have installed the most recent stable release of XBMC frodo. and was hoping to get it working with MythTV backend. So as such I configured and enabled the MythTV PVR add-on. After having trouble with Myth (I couldnt get the Live TV to load) I tried TVHeadEnd and disabled the MythTV PVR Add-on and configured and enabled the TVHeadEnd add-on. However, the Myth Add-on doesnt seem to want to be uninstalled. I have tried disabling, and uninstalling however each time I restart XBMC the add-on is enabled. I thought it might be because I still had MythTV-backend running so stopped that and tried again and the same happened. Tried removing and reinstalling XBMC and the same happens. There seems to be nothing I can do to actually remove it using the XBMC interface.
Are there likely to be configuration files left after i have removed XBMC that I should be deleting to remove the system completely. I am thinking that there is something else that I need to delete that must be holding information about the PVR Add-ons installed.
Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Graham
Edit: This exact same situation is occurring on both an Ubuntu box and a Windows Box
