RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds
Running build 20131215-decc3fb

In the picture menu there is no option to add a source. only option is to add an add-on.

I suppose I can mount the share via fstab on startup. Am I missing something or is this option missing? Thanks.

Edit: Nevermind I clickend aimlessly within the pictures menu and now the add source options shows. All is well.

Merry Christmas to all.

I have installed the latest test build

I´ve tried to configure my USB Soundcard with enabled AE.
The card is recognized but quiet

pactl list sink-inputs shows nothing..

What do I have to do to get analog 5.1 output working ?
Reply
Updated Gotham build from, based on XBMC master Dec 30 with newclock3 commits.

NB! I had to reverse some commits regarding XSLT support (scrapers) due to my buildroot that is not properly setup (tried to fix but no go so far...).

Many things has gone into XBMC master, specially regarding music library.
See XBMC master and here for extra PR´s (and what´s reversed).
Additional fixes:
• Fix for stream silence toggle (GUI) not working
• Reduced cachemembuffersize as it can cause crashes (not many reports on this though)

If you don´t have libdvdcss already you will have to compile this as explained in post #1.
Nov/Dec update or latest firmware from master tree recommended, also explained in post #1.

To install, SSH to Pi and (note the ” .” (space + dot) in the end of the cp command!):
Code:
cd .upgrade
wget -O xbmc-13-20131230-nc3-aae-dvd.tar.gz http://goo.gl/Fjw2JK --no-check-certificate
mkdir -p xbmc-13-20131230-nc3-aae-dvd
tar -xzf xbmc-13-20131230-nc3-aae-dvd.tar.gz -C xbmc-13-20131230-nc3-aae-dvd
cd xbmc-13-20131230-nc3-aae-dvd/xbmc-bcm/xbmc-bin/lib/xbmc/system
cp /usr/local/lib/libdvdcss.so.2.1.0 .
ln -sf libdvdcss.so.2.1.0 libdvdcss.so.2
ln -sf libdvdcss.so.2 libdvdcss.so
Then in Raspbmc, go into "Raspbmc Settings/Nightly Build Configuration/Switch Between Versions of XBMC", and choose new build + restart XBMC.

If you come from an old build or from Frodo, deleting guisettings.xml is recommended.
Also, re-check all settings as some things can change and/or revert to default.

NB! If you use music library, note that the db has been bumped.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Smile

I don´t know anything about USB soundcards and Pi, but I did not include Sam´s omxalsa patch in the build you are trying.
You might want to test the last build where I did include it, but I would suggest that you go to Raspbmc forum for support.

Up and running on new 'nightly'. Thanks.

Internet streams are much smoother for me with this latest build and they start time is substationally reduced (RTMP streams from hockeystreams addon). I have nothing but positive feedback after several days of testing. Big Grin

Keep up the good work!

Things to test (compared to last build):
• Fix, smooth playback of unpacked avi files
• Fix for wrong orientation for picture thumbnails

thanks! Just installed.

I noticed that after I restarted XBMC in order to use 20140103 build, and go to System - Video Output. It keeps me showing the message "Would you like to keep this change?". I set no and it keeps asking me.

I notice that its shows my screen as "Window" (Janela) and not Fullscreen.
Also the FPS shows "?0?"

I restarted and went directly to System.

I did deleted the guisettings.xml some builds ago (after you told me to)

Can you try to reproduce it?

UPDATE: I'm uploading a video of it

Here's the video:

Hi Fernandog,

None of these issues happened to me, I started from a new guisettings.xml on the previous build.
I also tested different settings to see if I could reproduce it but all seems fine here.
I would still recommend that you start from a fresh guisettings.xml again.

This showed up here:
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/2660#i...t-17133026

and comes and goes randomly:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=165503
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=166642
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=169502

I'm not convinced it's ever been fixed properly, but as it's quite random, most bug reporters seem happy after a while.

@popcornmix how and when XBMC detects its a Window mode or Fullscreen mode? I guess the key here its the "when".
Reply
I think that it is only confused. When I had this issue I always choose "Yes" when asking if I want to keep it and everything changes to the correct settings (and no more dialogs after that).

Remember when I told you about subtitles become "blocks" ?
Here's a print of it. This isn't a new thing. I have since a long time (http://forum.stmlabs.com/showthread.php?...2#pid75962)

I heard a single crack, subtitles become "blocks" and I noticed a suddenly drop of GPU mem from a average of 25-28MB to 938k
My GPU_MEM = 160.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/xt1vdmk31kje4l...hot026.png - this image is from yesterday.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/t7vztw5evf7xmu....12.00.png - this image is from today. Not related to the previous image.

Here's the script I created:
Code:
#!/bin/bash
clear
while true; do u=`echo "GPU:" && sudo LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/vc/lib /opt/vc/bin/vcdbg reloc | grep 'free' | tail -1 | cut -d' ' -f3 && echo " CPU: " && free -k -o -t -h | grep Total: | cut -d' ' -f23,24 && echo "CPU:" && mpstat 1 1 | grep "Average" | cut -d ' ' -f 11-12 && echo "%" && sleep 2`;echo $u ;done

What can I do to fix or is it a memory leak?

UPDATE: I closed video player and still GPU= 938k

When I killed XBMC and restarted GPU_MEM went to 62MB

If the gpu has no free memory, then new textures can't be uploaded, resulting in blocks for subs (and other gui items).
You need a way to reproduce the issue repeatably. Ideally a single file that when played always provokes this issue.
Reply
I just updated my post. Check the new print please.

I can assure you it's not related to a single movie file.
When I restart XBMC that same movie plays ok!

My best guess is this happens after playing a lot of movies without restarting.

Is there any kind of detailed log I can provide you to debug this?
