RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds
@jjkongen
Try setting gpu mem to 256 (see post#1).

Hi

Tried it, unfortunately it didn't change anything. 0219 & 0221 doesn't work with dvd menus. If I switch back to 0214 everything works.

0221 log: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=136223
0214 log: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=136225

I could perhaps upload some samples to you with the ones who has trouble?

Please do, I can test if I have same problem to see if it is something general or something with your setup.
If it might be a general issue, perhaps popcornmix can have a look at it too.

I have tested one of your samples you sent to me, and it´s working without any problems for me.
So far I cannot reproduce the issue, working 100% in menus and playing etc.
With dvdplayer (omx does not work).

I will try the other two when I have fetched them.

Edit: Maybe not related (?) but you have several smb errors in the log:
Code:
13:31:22  52.838280 T:2798646336   ERROR: SMBDirectory->GetDirectory: Unable to open directory : 'smb://USERNAME:[email protected]/f%24'
unix_err:'6e' error : 'Connection timed out'

Hi

Yes a share i don''t use at the moment - the ones who has problems is located at another share.

But I see you can play one without any problems ... strange .... I have two Pi's and the both behave the way I described, if you also can play the other two, then I'll try with a fresh install of raspmc, and update to 0221, and see how this goes.

I have now tested all 3 samples and they all work for me, tested over both smb and nfs.
I even tested with reduced OC and reduced gpu mem, but they all played fine, all menus work, selections works and playing works.
So I am not able to reproduce your problem.

If I am not mistaken the errors in the log suggests memory problem, but I can be wrong.

Hi

Thanks for testing the images, not sure what to do if its a memory problem? I have two Pi's who behave the same way. I'll try with a fresh memory card, and see how it goes.

Regards
JJ

But as you have tried 256 I don´t know what else to test.

I see the problem. I've done some debugging, but the failure is not in any Pi specific code.
CDVDInputStreamNavigator::Read() never returns because ProcessBlock() continually returns NAVRESULT_NOP.
Even when a stop message comes through it hangs because this thread is stuck.

Now as this isn't in Pi specific code I would expect (gotham) xbmc on other platforms to have the same issue.
Did you try playing this dvd on xbmc on pc?

Update:
I built latest gotham on x64 linux PC. Played 'Alles is Familie'. Exactly the same behaviour as Pi. Single square displayed. Wouldn't respond to stop. Had to "kill -9" xbmc to recover.
This isn't something I can fix. I suggest to post in a general xbmc forum, or open a trac ticket.

I installet the latest Testbuild. Works fine and is really fast but the Back Button from my old Xbox Remote is not working (TV Remote works well) and the subtitle addon is missing and cannot downloaded anymore.

@int666

1. Search 'lircmap' in this thread.
You can use an old lircmap.xml or from another build and place it in /home/pi/.xbmc/userdata.

2. The subtitles addon has been replaced by subtitles services. Depending on if you use a skin that is made for Gotham you should be able to use the new services instead.

Thanks for your help and with the old lircmap.xml my remote is working fine but subtitles seems to be broken or the xbmc.org repo had no addon at the moment according to the thread you posted. I will wait till this is fixed.

If you come from Frodo, delete addon*.db from /home/pi/.xbmc/userdata/Database and reboot.
Subtitle services are available (several) in the Gotham repo, I use Opensubtitles, Podnapisi and Subscene myself.
Works really good.

Edit: See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...e_services

The new build is excellent, few minor issues:

I have two Raspberrys connected to two TVs:

First TV issues
Sound drops sporadically during live TV with the old Frodo build did not do it
The "Back" key does not work anymore, just a note, I can use both the Samsung build in remote or the IR remote that I added to it.

Second TV issue
The picture on live TV is not stable, not sure how to explain, it is almost like going in rewind or in another word stop for a milliseconds.
The Frodo build was working without issues
Otherwise, it is perfect, fast channels switch and great experience. Thanks again for the hard work.

P.S. I applied all the firmware as you suggested as post 1.
Last question "If you want to test DVDPlayer with internet streams, live TV or Airplay, the advancedsettings.xml option in required.' where the advancedsettings.xml is located?

I'd be interested if disabling "adjust display refresh rate to match video" helps.
I'd be interested if enabling "Sync playback to display" helps.
