I also have the audio problems with YouTube streams since the last builds. It sounds like the bass is much too high. I've checked all settings and all look fine. I would like to stay with the omxplayer and don't want to switch to the dvdplayer.
Any ideas? The connection is directly tv <=> Rpi via HDMI. Latest firmware is installed. I'm back to "xbmc-13-20140219-nc3-woa".

Can you post a debug log and provide an example youtube video link that shows the problem.
Ideally provide a sample file (perhaps by downloading the youtube video, or finding another with similar behaviour).

Will grab the latest build and see if I can provide the necessary info in some minutes.

Here is the log: http://pastebin.com/z7bdXydi
YouTube video, but it's happening with every YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc7JrLcvm7Y

It's always happening when it gets a little bit louder or with some bass.
It's not happening with local video files. It's also not happening with the other video stream player - I think iplayer.

Can you post a log with debug enabled?
I've played the video you indicated. Watched with hdmi audio and then analogue audio. Sounded okay to me.
Have you got amplification or any other non-default options enabled?

The log is with enabled debug option. Enabled it after xbmc start.
Regarding amplification or other non-default options I don't know what you mean. Can you please name the xbmc option?

Regarding audio-output setup I have the following settings (from top to bottom):
hdmi, 2.0, optimized, no upmix, no normalization, quality is fast, active for 1min, no dual, no sounds, no passthrough

My config.txt settings regarding video/audio:
Code:
disable_overscan=1
disable_splash=1
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1
hdmi_ignore_cec=1
hdmi_force_edid_audio=1
hdmi_drive=2

Debug logging is disabled.
Code:
16:11:48 1705.035645 T:3037561632  NOTICE: Disabled debug logging due to GUI setting. Level 0.
Please enable in settings/system/debugging. Reboot. Play the file. Capture xbmc.log.

The setting I'm referring to is called volume amplification, accessible from the OSD:

Okay, I see the issue. It only affects the lower quality 640x360 vp8/vorbis version. The 1280x720 h264/aac doesn't have the problem.
I've downloaded the bad version so should be able to investigate.

Ok, you are right. I've changed the YouTube setting from SD to 720p and all is playing fine.
Didn't thought about this option, sorry. Thanks for the finding. Will use it until a fix is available.

@miappa
I've put some instructions together for running your builds on a clean raspbian install:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/forum/viewtop...12#p520212

Hope you don't mind. On a quick test it seems to run fine.

So far, my dropbox haven´t complained.

Hey guys, just want to say thanks for the continued work for our beloved pi! Just got a few questions.

I have the latest Raspbmc build and want try out these Gotham builds, just want to make sure I got all the steps down.

If I follow miappa code from post #828, do I need to grab anything else from post #1 in order to achieve the same if I were to do a fresh install of Rasbmc?
Do I need to do the libdvdcss if all I'm doing is streaming videos from my main cpu?

I'm not doing anything special, just scrape my libraries and install a couple addons.
Thanks again for the continued support!

Thanks guys for this investigation! Just changed the quality to 720p and the horrible noise is gone Smile
