Gotham Beta TESTING THREAD
This has been reported before and supposedly at one time was fixed but now we come back to the same issue

XBMC Audio Mixer (from official XBMC Repo on Gotham)

Most remotes rely on the "back" button or "backspace" on keyboard to exit add ons. this particular add on however does not respond to the back or backspace on keyboard, instead it requires "esc" key on keyboard to exit

I know this is not a core component of Gotham and realize it may not be a priority however it makes this otherwise useful addoon impossible to use for folks with limited buttons on a remote such as Apple or Boxee Box remotes

@tekno, lookup who wrote the addon and complain to them or in their thread - this is not a direct Gotham beta issue

Refreshing the information for a TVshow files seems to reset the watched status on all episodes on linux, not on Windows.

Tested on linux with gotham beta 3 and todays nightly from master (there is no prebuilt nightly for Gotham)
Tested on Windows with todays nightly from Gotham.

Guys -

I'm going to commit a cardinal sin here, and expect to be told off. Not only should I know better, but I *do* know better... but the debug log is routinely anything up to 40Mb and half a million lines, so I'm going to give it a go anyway!

Gotham 13.0-BETA3 Git:2dcc85 crash when idle and unattended, potentially after several days (idling in the background on my server). The only "death messages" are to do with upower:

Code:
17:59:16 T:140488488818560   DEBUG: UPower: Received an unknown signal DeviceChanged
17:59:47 T:140485830113024   DEBUG: Previous line repeats 1 times.
17:59:47 T:140485830113024   DEBUG: Thread EPGUpdater 140485830113024 terminating

... and there's no more.

The crashlog shows 43 threads running, but this is the suicide note:

Code:
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".
Core was generated by `/usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin'.
Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
#0  0x0000000000dbe40b in NPT_String::operator=(char const*) ()

Server is running tvheadend and hosting multiple USB tuners as well, although they're all fine and dandy and XBMC can simply be restarted, Library is mysql on the same system. Shares are NFS. XFCE 4.8 on Xubuntu 12.04.4 LTS Precise with an upgraded (backport) kernel:

Linux 3.5.0-48-generic #72~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Mar 11 20:09:08 UTC 2014

XBMC installed from repository, so no self-build options.

Now, I know that's very little to go on - and I'll try to get a shorter debug log that hopefully is more usable as a result and I'll post that if/when I get it - but I thought I'd float this here in case someone had any immediate ideas where to look further and/or whether it's perhaps an already-identified issue.

Thanks...

Link the full crashlog at least.

The first "unkown signal" is most likely from a bluetooth like keyboard - K400 or something, that derigsters itself every some seconds to save power.

Yeah, thought that'd be the response - I was trying to save the million-line-paste Smile

No BT on this system, but there's clearly something powering down. I wondered about one of the tuners, perhaps during an EPG update/sync.

xbmclogs won't accept it, but try this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1896...180023.log

Thanks, fritsch.

XBMC crashes on TheTVDB Scraping remote https location.

XBMC (13.0-BETA3 Git:20140328-2dcc855) 64BIT
Platform: x86 Darwin OSX 64-bit
Mac OS: 10.9.2
Hardware: Mac Book Pro 13" Retina late 2013 / 16 GB Ram

Problem: When trying to scrape my TV Shows XBMC crashes. The TV-Shows are on a remote https location.
The problem is reproduceable for me.

A) Add https remote location
B) add source on remote location
C) Start scanning/scraping as TheTVDB (Browsing the remote dir is no problem)
D) xbmc crashes

Cheers

Can you for a test remove that thumb.jpg?

Is it possible to speed up the time it takes to clean a video library? I find it to be excessively slow compared to Frodo.

My daughter is watching Frozen right now on the last beta (have the bluray ripped to mkv using makemkv). I noticed that dialog audio is sent to the rear speakers instead of the center/fronts. Is this a known bug? This is on a Mac (mini) on latest OSX. Tried the same movie on frodo and it works fine there, so I suppose it's a bug.

Can you get us a debug log (wiki) of when you try to clean your library? It seems quite fast to me when I test it, but it's always seemed fast to me, so maybe my library conditions don't really trigger the right things (for example, I don't keep movies in individual folders).

cleaning is way way faster for me on Gotham. So we need a debulog

Thanks... interesting... this has never been used to really *watch* XBMC, only to update the shared library, so shouldn't really have anything from previous installations (because nothing's ever really been installed). Even then, an upgrade should have taken care of them ... should it not?

EPG and mysql... no comment, they're both local and neither should trigger a segfault unless there's something really screwed.

Thanks for the comments, though. I'll dig into the log with your pointers but probably will wipe and re-install from scratch.

@Mods - I posted a thread in the Windows support forum about a bug I'm encountering with Gotham and then I just spotted this dedicated thread to Gotham issues.
Is it possible to move it to here? as this seems to be a more relevant location..
