Amazon Fire TV for XBMC

Not likely. One of the big selling points when they announced it was the open development model. You can't really have that if sideloading is disabled. Plus, if they add modifications to block non-US locations, it might cause trouble down the line when they want to globalize sales of the device.

What do you mean by development packages? As far as sideloading in general, even though 99% of users will never sideload, look for a firestorm from developers if they remove access. OTOH, I expect them to vigorously defend ftv from rooting; Big Media will abandon the device if they don't.

Development packages ie side loaded xbmc
Anyone have any idea why android XBMC versions are missing a large section of my library? Everything gets picked up from the same shares in openelec and windows XBMC. It isn't all from one particular share either. I am stumped with finding any pattern to it.

Database mismatch between versions?

The only way they could block xbmc is to turn off sideloading. Not likely, they've made a big deal about it, developers would revolt.

Hrm....even with a new scan on the android box? I'm not sharing a database with mysql or anything like that. The files don't even show in file manager.

I've got mine working as FF and RW, among other things.

The keymap editor crashes with a 'script error"on every android xbmc I've tried. Python error? IDK. Also, (as of yesterday) the add-on won't install from xbmc, you'll need to d/l it and install it from a zip file.

Yeah, Keymap Editor hasn't worked for me on the Fire since the Ouya builds. (Script errors...I hadn't run into an installation problem though.)
Airplay works just fine fine in XBMC 13.

Having some problems with Network Media shared from my Mac Mini - haven't tried hard though.

My big question to everyone - what about IP Control of Fire TV? I don't want to use any of the other remotes... I believe it works once in XBMC but what about in general? That's what I need more than anything.

I Control XBMC over IP but the problem is if the screensaver etc goes on I can't get back into XBMC without the Fire TV remote which sucks... this could sell to a lot of my clients with XBMC !
Has anyone tested 3D playback?
@bradynapier Yatse and the official android remote will work - they work over IP.

The download must have been a glitch, It seems OK now. I'm also getting the script error using gotham on os x. I haven't posted the error in their subforum yet, I need to search and see if this is a known problem.

Whoever mentioned looking into the ODROID instead may want to reconsider if you want support for anything other than 2 channel audio. Sad

See http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1679988
It's not clear whether VC-1 is supposed to be h/w accelerated or not, but someone reported it as not working.
Best is if someone could try "hddvd" from http://www.auby.no/files/video_tests/, both with libstagefright and mediacodec, and post an xbmc log.

Hm, the Log Uploader crashes on Gotham. Can't open the file with my file manager, so I'll have to look into it later. (All 3 of the options didn't play smooth).

Also, I don't think this is anyone's issue but mine, but I had to force buffering for my SMB share, through advancedsettings. Excited to get the chance to get this fully functional. Thanks a lot Koying. Cool

I tried the HDDVD link http://www.auby.no/files/video_tests/vc1..._hddvd.mkv

EDIT- Using this this version of XMBC - http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/andr...bi-v7a.apk

Here is the log for testing on and on, on and off, off and on.

Pretty low frame rates - 9-17FPS.

FYI I was unable to use the XBMC Log Uploader. You'll see the errors in the log for that.

crash log for latest 12.4.2
part 1: http://pastebin.com/ieNpMaac
part 2: http://pastebin.com/7VY0QWDR

This issue i did not have with Ouya built.

not sure if its good thing to remove the ouya built yet.
The crash is constant, which means there is something this version dont like about this file. Hope someone can advice on this.
