[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
"I don't want 300+ channels. Maybe 80-100 tops (maybe thats just meAngel). I know I can interleave my own things where ever I want, but for someone that just stumbled across this program? It'd be nice to have an awesome set of preset custom channels."

I think a feature that Filters, hides, or favorites a channel would work for that. You only see channels you'd want to watch.

Yes, thats what editing/deleting through the channel config is for. What im talking about is creating community created "Networks". It's like turning on the the tv now. Don't like whats on fox? Change to ABC then. But 200 channels of one certain show is crazy.Tongue

I see what you're saying. It's like my cable says I have 500 channels but 200 of those are music only. On my cable box I can just filter them out. Im sure the community list is just going to grow. We may end up with over a 1000 channels. Now, I don't want to sit there and edit/delete through 1000 channels. Sorting, hiding, or whatever allows the community to grow impeded and also allows the user to customize their PTVL to see only what they want. Everything is still there if they want.
Users please remember "Autotune" is meant for hassle free channel setup... and will never be for advanced channel configurations. Everyone's likes and preferences are different... that's what manual configuration is for.

As the list grows, advanced users can scroll through the list manually picking what they want.

Auto tuners will receive a random limited selection based on their category preferences.

In the future my Windows and android companion app will have access to the list, making manual channel configuration easier.

Thats what im shooting for, hassle free based off of whats from youtube. Hate to say it.... but kinda like pluto.tv, except we have no restrictions as to copyright issues.

I'll make a playlist to show you what i mean. Smile
I read the instruction in post 1 and then I searched for about 1 hour but couldn't find the answer. Where exactly do you add Youtube channels and Rss feeds? I looked at settings2.xml but didn't find where exactly I could add it.

I'm having problems with my local files starting at the beginning when I change the channel. I've read that it can have something to do with external subtitle files, unfortunately, this is not the case with my files. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it decides to restart the video. It happens with all my file formats (mkv, avi, and mp4). Sometimes it won't start at the beginning, but if I change the channel and return, it may or may not reset itself. Sometimes it will start at the beginning and if I return it will continue as normal. Sometimes it will start from the beginning and if I return it will start at the beginning again. Like I said, there seems to be no cohesive reason for it.

I'm running Openelec. If there is anything I need to provide or any way I can help, please let me know. Thanks.

I had similar issues in frodo, http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1617081 and i wasn't able to get it resolved. It looked like that issue wasn't showing up in gotham but I only got to test for an hour or so. I had another issue where I channels are not filling up with all of the available content, but since I don't have time to actively troubleshoot I didn't want to waste other people's time.

there is a bugs with multi language support for this addon:

1. if the xbmc interface is not English, the pvr autotune is not working.
2. if the channels name in the pvr is not in English, the pseudotv-live does not save their name correctly in the auto tune.

plaese fix this bugs.
thank you.

I'll look into it

thanks.
can you please look why pseudotv-live does not save non-english channels name correctly in the auto tune to the xml settings file? this is more important for me.
thanks again! Smile

hey
is this an issue with Gotham?
i renamed all my TV shows to their hebrew names. on frodo i was able to select TV genre (which was still in english) and it would show it correctly.
now on gotham with hebrew named shows, i cannot get the channels to populate. not even with a playlist.
if the show's name is in english it will work on partial.

do you have a plan to get it to work soon? because this may cause me to go back to frodo

Community List Auto tuning.
"As Seen On TV" BCT Commercial option, UPNP Video Mirroring, STRM Duration tweaks.

Can someone please answer this for me?

I'm still not getting these in the latest 0.3.9 version
Never mind I found the options but it seems the main one i'm interested in "STRM Duration tweaks" doesn't work correctly.

All my episodes and movies have a duration of 1 hour in psuedotv live no matter what. I'm using GoMovies and GoTv which don't generate nfo's. I tried using tinyMediaManager to generate nfo's for all the movies in the directory they are in but the problem persists.

I use those plugins without a problem and have correct durations...

My tweak works fine, didn't say it would correct your problem! it helps avoid duration issues.

Perhaps you have hide short videos enabled? and have BCT's enabled?

PseudoTV Live doesn't make up strm durations... it either gets it from the nfo directly or by xbmc library if the media was scraped... if both fail then it creates a show with 3600 second duration.

If you have one of the two above enabled well that's why shows appear longer then they are... Its been mentioned a number of times that hide short videos... hides short videos (ie bcts). The hidden shows duration is filled with the previous show info (making it appear larger the it is).

Pluto gives user no control over content... it dictates channel media, you end up with a bunch of channels you'll never watch...

I think most of users don't want that...

I welcome ideas to improve community autotune. But it will never end up like Pluto tv.

The best we can do is have categories for random channel population and easier manual additions using the community list

Like I mentioned before I already read the 3 posts on page 1. I also did a search in the thread for about an hour. Post #2 doesn't really explain where exactly in settings2.xml you would add the channels. I setup PTVL to autotune the channels in hopes that I could then just look at settings2.xml and see where exactly the channels were added. However all the xml files contains is PTVL settings.
After a few hours I finally figured out the issue. I was going into the addons folder which also contains a settings2.xml file. Which of course isn't the right location.
Hey Luna I double check everything including dependencies, i'm using your version of ustvnow 9.9.9, youtube 4.4.6, only the rss feed and super favorites works in auto tune. I'm using Gotham 13.1 beta 1 and PSTVL 3.9. Log http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=203030
