Can you enable debug in advanced tab of the plugin settings and clear cache and cookies and try again. Then post log

Sorry just noticed you already did have the debug loggging enabled

Can you check the version of the plugin you're running? Is it the latest from my repo?

If so I'm not too sure what's going on. I would probably have to put some more code in to get clearer debugging information out, and can't really give a good timeframe of when that would happen sorry.

I've got a feeling it just grabs the thumbs from the images shown on the netflix website, so they're not very large. I haven't looked at the code for that myself, but the images do look quick low res when it's displayed coverflow style on confluance.

I usually use the plugin in list form which always shows the thumbs at a smaller size where it's not noticeable.

I looked at this quickly a while back, it downloads covers and fan art from tmdb but what I noticed is that these are only available once you open a list for the second time. So, for example you open my movies: The images look crappy and you have no fan art. If you close netflixbmc and open my movies again the images are fine....

Thanks for the replies. Mine doesn't seem to change by reloading the lists. However, using a different view where the thumbnails are smaller looks pretty good. Thanks again.

I don't think there's any real way to make this plugin work on android, as Netflix doesn't work on chrome - it forces you to watch through the standalone Netflix app. At that point, if the normal Netflix app works you may as well just use that, I think it even had some keyboard navigation support already.

netflix, sbs ondemand, webdriver etc.

Installed Chromelauncher and this plugin on my XBMCbuntu, entered username and password for Netflix. It pulls in show and episodes (jay!), however on trying to start any episode I get this error on my iPad remote

`XBMC JSON-RPC Error: Invalid params.
(Code: -32602)
Data: (null)

METHOD
Files.GetDirectory

PARAMETERS
{directory="plugin://plugin.video.netflixbmc/?url=70236037&mode=playVideoMain";"file_properties"=(thumbnail);media=video;sort={ignorearticle=0;method=none;order=ascending;};}`

I've set Chrome Launcher to use custom path (but that is the default path set on installation). What am I overlooking?

John

I do have an idea of something that might be breaking login, possibly due to a netflix website change / regex parsing issue. I've only just discovered this in relation to chrome launching work I've been doing, so not sure yet if it's relevant. I'll update if I find out more.

At this stage no, chromeos is not supported. In theory it could be added though, as I'm pretty sure netflix does work in chrome browser on that platform?
I basically requires adding chromeos support to chrome launcher plugin, which could get easier soon as I'm changing chrome-launcher a bit to work via a custom Chrome App...

I haven't seen this kind of problem before, but I don't know if it's related to the ipad app you're using. Can you test the plugin with a regular keyboard to see if it's the remote's fault?

So I have everything installed and working. This is a really nifty app I must say. It combines the best of different worlds, Ubuntu, XBMC, Netflix.

Ok, I have installed xbmc 13.2 on xubuntu 12.04, google chrome deb, added the http://www.alelec.net/kodi/repository.alelec.zip repository, installed chrome launcher and netflixbmc.
The hardware is an AMD A8-7600 apu processor.

But when I play the movies they are choppy. It looks like the framerate is off, or the apu can cope with it.
But if I logout of xbmc, and fire up Google chrome on the Xubuntu desktop, I do get a smooth playing movie.
I have tried this first on an regular Ubuntu, that didn't looked good so I tried a lighter desktop, Xubuntu.

I'm puzzeled what might cause this choppy looking movie. Have I done things wrong?

I have sorted out two movies (in Netflix) with 23.976, 25 fps, but they are both choppy.
(cntrl alt shift D and there is this fps info. I had to do it on another pc though, because this shortcut didn't work on xubuntu)

Do any of you have this plugin working on xubuntu/ubuntu? And do you have smooth playing movies?

The fact you get smooth playback directly in chrome is interesting as the plugin launches chrome to play the videos so there should not be that much difference. If you disable kiosk mode and once the video launches navigate within the browser session back to the main Netflix page and try another video does it play fine?

I have 3 different Ubuntu 14.04 machines all running the xbmc + Netflix plugin all run fine.

I tried with Yatse on Android and got the same result but with a different error: 'empty directory or playlist'. If I try navigating (by keyboard) Series>Season>Episode then the episode list for a Season turns up empty as well. FWIW do I install Chrome AND Chrome Launcher or does installing the launcher take care of that?

debug log here http://paste.ubuntu.com/9598746/ states "ERROR: GetDirectory - Error getting plugin://plugin.video.netflixbmc/?url=80004975&mode=playVideoMain"

update: although it may be obvious to some, Chrome needs to be installed as well. Neither this thread, nor the Chrome Launcher mentions this (!) One could assume that the Chrome Launcher checks for Chrome and prompts, or throws error messages.

Next step is to connect a wired keyboard to my xbmc to login to Netflix. Thanks so far.
