You need a better power supply. See:

Thank you. Im using the usb port that is on the TV to power the raspberry pi. It obviously doesnt provide enough power.

No, USB ports on TV's are often 500mA which is not enough.

If you have two adjacent USB ports on the TV you can use one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008ADFWL6. Seems to work well for me.

I saw the icon for the first time on my rpi 2 yesterday , never had the issue on rpi with the very same iPad power adapter. Is the rpi 2 more power hungry ??

B or B+? Pi2 is comparable with the B (a bit higher than B+). The B didn't support the under voltage warning so you may have had problems without knowing.

See here: http://www.righto.com/2012/10/a-dozen-us...le-is.html
iPad does drop to about 4.4V when under load, so is not ideal.

B ! Aha ok will buy a new one and see if it helps. But like a said never had any issue on rpi B, rpi 2 became slow and showed the icon. Will try without overclockig first

I was just dealing with this on one of my pis (model b). It has always been using a re purposed blackberry charger (cube style with usb port) which is only 700ma. In fact 2 of my 3 use this. (I only have flircs as additional items)

The main Pi I use all the time has some other charger I found that quotes itself as 5v, 1.6A output. I don't seem to have issues with it currently (it HAD been being powered via a powered hub I found laying around).

My question is simple then, is there a source for a go to 2A power supply for Pis? I'd like to get at least one pi2 soon, so I know i won't "get away" with these 700ma power supplys any longer. So, whats a common well priced Pi power supply that I should pick a few up of ?

The Pi Foundation PSU is working for me with my Pi2 - though I do use a powered hub for 2.5" external HDDs.

I've used these without any problems, and was able to power a 2.5" HDD reliably with the max_usb_current=1 setting.

I use an old iPad 1 charger on a Max Overclocked RPi B+. I've never had any issues with Rainbow squares and I've pushed the B+ hard. No drives attached, just Flirc and Bluetooth.

No issues either on my new RPi2 Overclocked again with the same setup Smile

I also use the 12W iPad Air (A1401) charger since around one year. It outputs 5,2V with 2,4 Ampere.
Powers the RPi 2 quite well, without dropping under 5 Volt.

On the RPi 1 B I measured an operating range from 5.02-5.08 Volts backpowered.
With a micro usb cable attached, also this charger can´t go over 4.95 Volts at an overclocked RPi 1 B.

Didn´t checked it with standard clock settings.
