Release YouTube (IMPORTANT - READ FIRST POST)

It's working fine here (tested with 13.2 and 14.1)...maybe you're geo-blocked? You can also provide me with a debug log (wiki)

All other pages default to thumbnail - just every new search within the plugin gives the list view back by default. Have you come accross it before and is there any way to sort it?

Cheers!

Ahh...now I see the issue...mhmm... Rofl

Update
Okay...this seems to be the issue of old saved view modes for each folder (before the override). I cleaned everything so no stored view mode exists....now it's working.

Thanks for taking the time to look into my issues - much appreciated. I'm running 5.0.7 beta3 and the searches are still defaulting to list view as before. Previous searches all go to thumbnails (as I always change it after a search to look at them)

Any ideas if it's an issue my side or something? I'm on a standard Kodi install with confluence as my only skin

Also regarding the region issue - next video that throws me the flag - I'll grab you the debug log.

Again many thanks for your time!

**UPDATE**

I reinstalled the plugin (actually renamed the Kodi folder in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming and reinstalled the plugin) and got prompted to execute the setup wizard which I'd never had before (I adopted the plugin very early on) - ran the wizard and made my choices - still the same issue. In my override view options - both were set to 500 after executing the setup wizard

I tested it with 13.2 and 14.1, both working as expected. I use the default confluence skin...but I had to clean the Database...because the skin stores somehow for each path the view ID (I try to override) Big Grin after that everything was working fine.

Just a small thing: When in My Subscriptions, on a video from an already subscribed channel, the context menu still shows "Subscribe to.... " even though I am already subscribed.

Thank you for all your work Nod
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge please click the 'Thumb Up - Like' button to show me your appreciation :)
For YouTube questions see the official thread here.

Yeah Wink I know...sadly the API doesn't provide me any information if I already subscribed to the channel...maybe I find another solution Huh
Hi Bromix,
Thank you for the wonderful plugin.
I am using 5.0.6 version currently and it is failing to play below video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEehl76P49Y

I could not get much information in the logs it just says open-error - could not open URL
I have observed this for many such other movie URLs.

Can you please look into this

Thank you

Can you additionally provide me with a debug log (wiki)? Smile Meanwhile I try to test the video today Smile

Update
Is working fine here...some Geo-Blocking, DNS or Proxy-Trouble? I need a debug log (wiki) for this.
I am not using proxy.
This video plays on my laptop without any issues in the same network.
I am using Kodi on Raspberry pi b+ and with basic confluence skin.

Can you try a higher resolution (addon-settings->video quality). You're trying to open the video in 360p (ITAG 18) and ffmpeg somehow doesn't like the format (?). Just wan't to know if another format works for you.
How do paid channels work in the addon? I found some shows for my mother in the addon, but got nothing but failures when trying to play them. Went to YouTube to check the channel, and it's all paid content. Now, I'm not above paying for content but why is there no way to tell from the addon if it's a paid video or not, and how would buying videos work from the addon?
My parents use this addon a lot, but they don't really get that it's the same as the website, I don't think and they normally watch videos in bed on an android box I set up with XBMC for them. Just trying to make it clear for them.

EDIT - Does the addon even know if a video or channel is paid from the info it can get through the API? If so, how about a green "$" after each paid video or channel? Would paying for these be supported through the addon?
I am having issue with live streams. Its keep failing when i try to play any live streams on youtube.
I have installed kodi on Amazon FireTV
Other videos play fine no issue, its only failing on live streams.

Here are the examples :

Above ones are live streams of news channels, these works from my laptop using browser.

My version : Kodi (14.1 Git:2015-01-30-38e4046-dirty). Platform: Android ARM 32-bit
You Tube : 5.0.6

Your help is greatly appreciated.

There's you're problem...your Kodi on Android doesn't comes with https support...nothing I can do about. Contact the developer of the Kodi branch to fix this (compile ffmpeg with https support)
15:06:10 T:1748922664 DEBUG: ffmpeg[683E7128]: https protocol not found, recompile with openssl or gnutls enabled.

debug log (wiki) + the video id, so I can see the problem based on an example Wink

The API doesn't provide me any information about paid content (at least nothing I could test, because I never had an example Wink )
Hi!

Thanks for the great kodi addon!
After the installation I could login to my youtube account without problems und video playback worked just fine.
About two weeks later the playback does not work any longer, I get the message: "Wiedergabe nicht möglich Ein/mehrere Inhalt(e) konnte(n) nicht wiedergegeben werden. Für Details bitte Logdatei einsehen."

Thanks for the feedback. Did you update your box in the last 2 weeks? There seems to be some trouble with the current version of libcurl. I don't know if the devs solved the problem or reverted to 7.38(?). Can you contact a dev. of the xbian team? Maybe someone has encountered the problem there too.
On my way out the door to run some errands ATM, so I will try to get back to you with a debug log later today, but if you want to check it out this is the channel I was looking at when I noticed the "problem".
