Release YouTube (IMPORTANT - READ FIRST POST)
Hello can anyone help please?

2 days ago,one of my Subscriptions started saying "Backend Error" when i click on the channel in the Subscriptions page.
Youtube channel is: "https://www.youtube.com/user/BdoubleO100"
If i manually search for the channel it works fine/all video's play ok and playlists loadup fine.Also works ok with all browsers.
All other channels in the Subscription page work ok.
Haven't altered any settings.
Tried unsubbing/re-subscribing the channel and reinstalling Youtube plugin.
Same thing happens on both my OpenElec and Windows PC.
Any idea's what could be wrong?
Thanks

The message says it already. These rtmpe streams won't work with kodi.

Understood but what's throwing me off is that this video was working just over a week ago in Kodi (I watched it Sunday 1st March) - so is YouTube / Vevo switching to rtmpe streams gradually and therefore we will have a problem going forward?

Correct...I'm no magician to fix or overcome this Smile. Also, most videos don't use rtmpe...but if you wan't to watch Vevo, it will be difficult in the future (understandable). Vevo is making money with the artists and needs adds to monetize there profit with it. But we can skip the add with the addon and so the label tries to move us to the YouTube web-page....I would do the same to make money Wink

Cool....you're right...only this channel Rofl I hate to say it...but this is an internal server error...so the bug/issue is with YouTube/Google....nice work...I will create an issue nevertheless, to keep an eye on it - but nothing I can do at the moment.
Thanks for looking into it for me,i thought it maybe something to do with youtube acting up tbh.
Maybe youtube will fix it in a few days Smile

At the moment YouTube is working full time to update the APIv3, because of the deprecation of APIv2. Maybe this is somehow related. It wouldn't be the first time this happened. But here is the issue...so I can return to it and test it.

Thanks. For XBMC, I always use master unless something is completely wrong Smile

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/5562

will the xbmc.__version__ get a bump? If so I can based on the version provide the correct duration (in seconds starting with 15.X)

xbmc.addon
xbmc.python

I think I use xbmc.python (http://mirrors.xbmc.org/docs/python-docs.../xbmc.html)

I used starting with 1.4 for Frodo - starting with 2.0 for Gotham and starting with 2.14 for helix.

Code:
try:
    self._version = tuple(map(int, (xbmc.__version__.split("."))))
except:
    self._version = (1, 4)  # Frodo
    pass

self._name = 'Unknown XBMC System'
if self._version >= (1, 4) or self._version == (2, 0):
    self._name = 'Frodo'
    pass
if self._version > (2, 0):
    self._name = 'Gotham'
    pass
if self._version > (2, 14):
    self._name = 'Helix'
    pass
if self._version > (2, 19):
    self._version = 'Isengard'
    pass
i guess that would be xbmc.python version
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master.../addon.xml

However the pydoc __version__ is not directly linked to the addon.xml and so one could forget to bump that version (let's hope not)
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/32c0bd...plate#L942

xbmcaddon.Addon(id='xbmc.python').getAddonInfo('version')
is another option.

so yes 2.19 will be Isengard version and as such playtime in seconds

Can you try to disable the "Channel Fanart" in the addon-settings...just a hunch. I will try to do some tests...this seems only a problem on low performance systems, but I can't find the problem. On my developer machines is running without any problems...on my HTPC sometimes I recognize some slowing down, but not really a problem.
Fan art is already disabled. :/

Okay, last think...can you adjust the "entries per page" in the addon-settings to 5-10 and try after that again. But restart the XBMC/KODI...I noticed that this happens only once...and after that for the rest of the runtime of KODI never again - as if something isn't initialized the first time.
