Win HOW TO - Configure Kodi DSPlayer with LAV Filters, XySubFilter & madVR
#76
Hi there! thanks for your answer. I reintalled the xysubfilter and actually the problem was that I erased the Madvr folder. I reinstalled and now is working great! what a nightmare, almost one week to figure it out...
How does the xysubfilter works? If I enable subtitles and want to download one while playing Kodi says I dont have a sub addon active...
Thanks again for your help

Minimize Kodi during playback and select XySubFilter from the Windows Taskbar.

Have you confirmed XySubFilter is installed correctly? Also, is the filter included in Media rules for the file type?

It might be that the file you are playing doesn't include any subtitles, which would make XySubFilter inactive.

I have suspicion you can configure XySubFilter while using a desktop player such as MPC-HC and those settings will carry-over to Kodi.

Thanks for reply Warner, thats the thing in MPC-HC and MPC-BE the subs show up using XySubFilter just not in Kodi with the same files and yeah added to media rules for file type any other thoughts would be appreciated

If XySubFilter is installed correctly and Media rules are configured to use XySubFilter, then you must turn subtitles on from within Kodi. This is accomplished during playback in Audio Settings, I believe.

Hi again! I have another small issue, hope you can help. I have some black screens while playing a movie, I even lost the audio. If I click enter, everything goes back to normal but after 5-10 minutes again the same issue. Any ideas as well? thanks

I believe the new build of DSPlayer will address this issue, but it hasn't been released yet. In the meantime, I would:
  • Try using the "Direct3D 11 presentation path" under "General Settings". You may have to try the "Present frame with every V-Sync" option on and off while using this setting.
  • Disable "Fullscreen exclusive mode" (only after trying the above).
If this only happens with certain files, try remuxing the file using the program listed under "Troubleshooting Tips."

If you are still experiencing this issue, you will have to wait for the next release of DSPlayer.

Thanks Warner and sorry for the late reply, I was in a bussiness trip. Unfortunately it does not work but in addittion, Kodi is very unstable, just FF makes it crash, really annoying. I think I will need to come back to my POP corn hour despite the quality of this DS player Sad something it did not bring anythgin good, or at least that I can appreciate, was the svp. Not really see the differences between 24p and 60p. Shoudl'nt it be very high?

I think the difference between 24p and 60p is very subtle. I have no idea why DSPlayer would be so unstable. The list provided in Troubleshooting Tips is all I could recommend to improve this.

I can't get this working on my Win 8.1 x64 install - playback won't start using DSPlayer but works with DVDPlayer. I ran through the instructions a few times but no go.

Full log at http://pastebin.com/S7gPafLJ. I'm using the DSPlayer starter kit as provided, without modification, located in C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\.

I've rerun the LAV filters 0.65 installation repeatedly, using the binary installer, either installing x86 version only or x86 and x64 both. Now stuck.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks for the detailed write-up!

Hard to tell there. One of the filters has failed to load. Did you install the correct version of XySubFilter? Also, did you leave the folders behind for madVR and XySubFilter once installed?

Thanks for the quick reply. I left both madVR abd XySubFilter in place (in Program Files). XySubfilter is XySubFilter_3.1.0.705_x86_BETA2.

You should move this discussion to the main forum for more help (log included).

I assume you unchecked Use system filters in DSPlayer settings.

I'm not sure what the problem could be.
