Release YouTube (IMPORTANT - READ FIRST POST)
(2015-06-12, 02:06)dkplayaclub Wrote: Been a while since I had to stop by, mainly because to addon works so well for me. I do have one request.
After doing a fresh install I was a little annoyed that my watched status is not saved anywhere. Would it be possible to get some sort of export option so that I can restore the watched indicators after a fresh install?

No solution I would know of. The watched status is based on the Watched history of YouTube...so if you clear/delete the history, the watched status is also gone. But YouTube's API doesn't provide anything to know if you watched a video. I would have to do it all by my self and locally in the addon, which I won't.

If I may ask, why do you need the watched status for?
Any way to cache a youtube playlist so that shuffle can become faster?
I've got 463 youtube videos on my playlist that I want to shuffle but it takes ages Sad

Not in the near future....I need at least ~20 Calls (463/50 * 2) only to get all the meta data, because YouTube did a great job on the new APIv3 (compared to APIv2). This would be a difficult one, because if, I prefer a common solution and not only for playlists. But I can think about it.

Ok, but do you still think the bug is in Kodi and not the YouTube plugin? After all playing back local video clips in Kodi works fine (continuously).
Because then I will report this bug in Kodi related forum, even though it just does not work with YouTube app.

I would say a bug in KODI, because the 'current playlist' isn't filled up with videos (but in my opinion should have if the settings is enabled for sequential playback). Maybe this setting isn't working for addons at all and was only intended for local files.

OK, I will make a post in the Kodi forum.

"Maybe this setting isn't working for addons at all and was only intended for local files."
In that case the settings wouldnt change the context menu to "Play only this", but would keep it on "Play from here"
A bug ticket was already opened for it 3 months ago.

The option "System->Video->Playback->Play the next video automatically" is not work correctly with UPnP video sources.

[Android version] Android system player do not automatically play the next track on the list (uncorrect typecast)

I can't play live videos in this youtube addon. While I'm trying to run one of these live videos it doesn't start and I get error message. Here is my kodi.log file:
http://pastebin.com/DPW8Bh5z

I'm using Amazon Fire Stick, and Im' running newest Kodi version for Android.

EDIT:
Oh, I just found this topic:
https://github.com/bromix/plugin.video.y...issues/149
it seems like there is no chance to play live video from youtube, because of the KODI for Android?

For most first time installers, it would seem that there is something amiss with the add-on, most of the links like 'popular now' are either not functional or subscription based, vs a web browser experience. I do remember reading about the double entendre, and consequently I was warned, but others might have issue where there is none. This isn't to say this isn't one of my most valued add-ons, because it is, and I do appreciate the effort that has gone far and away into code depths that would give me nightmares.

Thank-you for this great addition to Kodi.

Hi there. I have this problem with one of my devices. I have two devices using YouTube. A Netbook and a television. The netbook appears to be working correctly, but whenever I click on Subscriptions on the television I get this error, (Unknown Kind)

I have tried signing out, and reconfirming the codes with YouTube activate, but the problem persists. When I googled the problem, this post came up.

What can I do?

Thank you, in advance
Hello all,

I’m a bit new to Kodi as well as to this forum.
I tried to follow the thread with no success….

I’m running YouTube plugin 5.1.6 beta6 by bromix, on Kodi 14.2.
I’m using Android box (Minix) with Android 4.4.2 and all I’m getting is “Script Failed”.

What should I do?

It worked on older versions of both, YouTube plugin and XBMC

Bromix - your response is amazing!!!

Many thanks for your support.

Ziv
Video zyg0WUsY9HI fails to play. It plays fine in a browser on Windows and Linux PC.

These are unsupported rtmpe streams (even youtube-dl is skipping them). In the next update, a notification will show up to inform about that. Nothing I can do about that so far, sorry.
