Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows
I am having a problem getting DVDs (actual discs) playing in DSPlayer. When I insert and play a Blu-ray disc and launch it in Kodi, DSPlayer does its job. When I do the same with a DVD, it is only playing in DVDPlayer. I can get parts of the DVD to play in DSPlayer by navigating through Videos > Files to the disc drive and opening an ifo file on the disc. Annoyingly, all my ripped disc images, in Video_TS folders, are loaded into and play fine in DSPlayer.

In summary, ripped DVDs and Blu-rays work fine and open in DSPlayer. Blu-ray discs played directly in Kodi work fine and open in DSPlayer too. DVD discs played directly in Kodi are only opening in DVDPlayer.

I am 95% certain that I should be able to get DVDs playing properly in DSPlayer. Right now there is likely a problem with my Kodi settings or mediasconfig, which I have uploaded below:

When I insert a DVD and play it in MPC-HC, DSPlayer works with it fine.

No I am not talking about the PopCorn...actually the thing is when whenveer I use my Mac or the PopCorn hour device (not the software) the back channels are less present and the sound is more surrounding. When usign DSplayer, the back channels are much more present and sound much louder.

Actually I tried what you said and nothing changed Sad

You want to use WASAPI with both DVDPlayer and DSPlayer. That way, the audio driver leaves the choice of levels to your Denon receiver. Otherwise, the Windows mixer may interfere and lead to uneven channel mixing.

I have to confirm the subtitles not appearing after downloading them through the subtitles plugin. I'm using the Addic7ed plugin, if that helps: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=222672

xySubFilter is set to "Always load". If I stop the video and restart, the subtitles start correctly (the one I downloaded, I mean).
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).

I fixed this by adding a rule to playercorefactory:

<rule name="dvd" dvd="true" player="DSPlayer" />

Unfortunately, only DSPlayer merits can be configured through the Kodi UI, so with this one you need to edit the file manually.

Make sure that xySubFilter is set up in the filter config. The starter pack files from about a month ago didn't have it assigned by mistake.

Nope, the filter works correctly if the subtitles are already there or if the video is stopped after downloading subs and then restarted.

I will provide you with one, ASAP. Thanks. Also, when adjusting the delay of subtitles, DSPlayer reacts "strangely"... as if there was a "rubber band effect", you start applying delay and it accepts it, let's say -400 but as soon as you stop pressing the relevant button on the remote it goes back to -200 and you need to re-press the button to bring it to -400. The numbers are just examples, but the effect is like that. I'll try to provide a different log for this too.

I have the same problem with subtitles. I do have xySubFilter enabled but in order to show a downloaded subtitle when using DSPlayer + MadVR I have to stop and resume playback. Subtitles work as intended when using the default player from Kodi. (no restart required).

can you add in fast forwarding with audio still playing?

Ok, here's Addic7ed plugin downloading subtitles but DSPlayer not showing them after download. I then stopped and restarted the video and subtitles were displayed correctly:

And here's the "rubber band" effect when adjusting subtitles delay. I don't know how else to define it... I reach -400ms and it goes back to -200ms by itself, stuff like that:
