Linux OpenELEC Testbuilds for x86 (Kodi 17)
Last version that worked was OE 6 Official. 15.2

It started when I switched to this version.
(2015-11-06, 07:01)Karnis Wrote: About 25% of the time when I press stop while viewing a file, the screen stays black & I have to switch to another input & back to Kodi to get the image to reappear. Only started w/ this latest build. Didn't happen on OE 6 official & doesn't happen on SATV 15.2. It's like either the HDMI handshake is not happening or switching the refresh rate back to previous default setting isn't smooth.

Log files:

http://xbmclogs.com/pfyt5a19c

I have also this problem, i provided also a log some time ago, i don't know if the problem in my case is aggravated by my avr (i resolve switching on avr, or disconnecting power)

Problem starts some build ago (if i remember from mid of october)
Another, potentially known, addon issue. Picture Slideshow Screensaver shows no images when activated.

Use Vertical-Blank Sync: Let driver decide and reboot as it is written in every howto out there. Why did you change the default?

Edit: Sorry - I see this one, here too:

I rather hoped fritsch might be able to suggest something - he and FernetMenta are the organ grinders. Smile

That said, I've had a quick look and there are some audio errors (discontinuity and sync issues), perhaps that's the reason for the silence on passthrough. I'm not able to repeat with my DTS-HDMA video files (Nvidia_Legacy builds). Do you still get this problem with build #1103?

One thing I should make clear/repeat is that these builds do not have libaacs enabled (a library used to decrypt encrypted BD ISO disks, and disabled in these test builds as libaacs may be causing playback problems with certain unencrypted disks). However this doesn't appear to be a factor here as your ISO isn't encrypted.

I updated to your November 4th build (1103, I think) but still the same - decoding in OE is working, but passthrough results in no audio.
No Debug Log - no issue.

When I select livetv with http source it starts to buffer on every channel switch.
This is the debug log:
http://pastebin.com/Qu6j6tXr

I see that the default settings for openelec in advancedsettings is:
<network>
<readbufferfactor>4.0</readbufferfactor>
</network>
I assume that this is the cause of buffering even if there is no need since this is actually our local iptv provider.

But on the other hand i do not see the same behavior on RPi2 with the same settings.
No. It has nothing to do with buffering. It only means: Load data upto 4 times faster than average bitrate.

Ok but why is it then buffering (on zotac d2550) and it does not on rpi? And it buffers just when starting the program and then not anymore. Why does it need to buffer since it is a stream.
No idea - i have no expertise in semi legal stream provided by iptvsimple.

It is legal btw since i am paying for my iptv.
This has happened to me a few times times now, & each time I've tried to run the debug it doesn't do it...then I go back to normal & it happens later...it figures. But I figure I'll give a heads up.

When I go into the system menu, with either the enter key or right cursor key command, it jumps right into the resolution change confirmation window. I select "no" & no changes have been made.

I'd say it happens about 10 % of the time I try to go into the system menu.

I'm controlling KODI from my tablet via http with iRule. Needless to say, this behavior is unique to the latest build # 1103 on page 1 I'm using. Doesn't do it on SATV or HTPC 15.2 stable.

I'll work on that debug log for you tomorrow. Cool
New OpenELEC Jarvis build #1107: Generic / Nvidia_Legacy
(Supercedes previous build)

Code:
# uname -a
Linux OpenELEC 4.3.0 #1 SMP Sat Nov 7 22:30:33 GMT 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux

# lsb_release
OpenELEC (Milhouse) - Version: devel-20151107222924-#1107-ge1c98c8 [Build #1107]

Based on tip of OpenELEC master (e1c98c83, changelog) and tip of XBMC master (8e4ecd8e, changelog) with the following modifications: Build Highlights:
  1. Added PulseAudio support for Bluetooth and network audio - thanks @lrusak

To enable Bluetooth Audio (the following is tested/working on RPi2, x86 is untested):
    • System > Settings > Audio: Select "PULSE:" audio output device
    • OpenELEC Settings add-on: Enable PulseAudio service
    • OpenELEC Settings add-on: Pair Bluetooth dongle with Bluetooth speakers/headphones
From now on, whenever the Bluetooth speakers/headphones are connected audio will play over Bluetooth (otherwise HDMI).

    Known issues:
    • Kodi will crash if the Bluetooth device is disconnected during playback - stop playback before disconnecting
    • Bluetooth audio is delayed slightly, and will required an audio offset of about +100ms to restore sync

  2. Fix inverted behaviour of export library dialogs
  3. dcadec DTS-HDMA fixes
  4. VideoPlayer updates

Ok well i have identified the build where buffering on livetv started when the stream starts.
These are the results:

930 ok (livetv not buffering)
1009 bad (livetv buffering)
1017 bad (livetv buffering)
1018 bad (livetv buffering)

So something has changed between 930 builds and 1009 that is causing buffering when the stream starts. The buffering is happening on 1037U and also on nvidia zotac d2550 builds.
Also a note maybe from version 930 and 1009 from visual aspect the picture (on skin) got brighter on version 1009 compared to 930.
