Running a AFTV 4k this fixed my DD issues 
Out of interest the 30th January 2016 build seems based on RC2.
I guess for updates we go to this thread rather than run any other updater?

Im on an alpha krypton build. Trying to install the Jan 30th build from this thread on top fails 
is there any trick to doing this or do I have to start over from scratch

App downgrading does not really work.
You should be able to use the backup add on to backup your current state and restore it once you removed and reinstalled Kodi.

Is there a RC3 PT build or is that the 30th build?

The 30th is RC2 (as already stated 5 posts above).
There is a newer version on the mirrors. but don't know if it is RC3 or how it improves on the 30th build:

On the mirrors, there is also a "martijn-shield" build, don't know what that's about though:

martijn is just a test build for checking channel configs for V17.

If you're talking about the passthrough build from the 8th, I remember from the build log some addons failed to build properly so this may be related. I'm sure Koying will chime in with an answer soon.

i now have rc3 reinstalled because i didnt get my passthrough to work with my tv with this version.
Now i have a problem with nvidia shield where the audio is not in sync. Even when i correct this in the audio settings and set the offset higher then in another tv show it is offset way different again.
Anybody else have this and have some help for me?

I dont think that incorrect lip sync is anything that can be seen in the debug log, maybe im wrong. Its just that as soon as i think everything is lipsynct when i put on another movie or tv show it can be off again.
Even if not by much. i must say i am absolutly crazy with this. i need my lip sync to be 100% so 25ms + or - make a total difference. Anybody else stugling with things like this?
