Kodi DSPlayer – DirectShow Player for Windows
(2016-02-12, 23:23)Tamuro Wrote: Yeah very strange. I'm on windows 10 too so who knows if something isn't compatible. I noticed another thing last night as well. When in Kodi and watching an mkv bluray movie, if I hit "o" I get the filter info but if I hit "ctrl J" I don't get the row of information from madvr. I really think even though i have madvr set in GUI for renderer, internal set for filters and regardless of which setting I use for "Manage settings for Kodi" that it isn't working for some reason. If madVR is set to show in taskbar when in use then it should pop up in the bar once I fire up a move in Kodi and it doesn't unless I force it on all the time. Which would then mean madVR would be running the entire time my PC is on.

And if this helps, I'm running the latest madVR 90.8, I'm on Jarvis rc3 and used the latest DSplayer for Jarvis rc3. Also, it shouldn't matter where I unzipped madVR correct? Meaning it doesn't have to be on my main "C" drive where windows/Kodi is installed.

I suspect you don't really run with DSPlayer but DVDPlayer instead.

Press "o" and see if you are really using DSPlayer. It should show "Renderer:Kodi MadVR"

I'm on Win10, Jarvis RC3 DSPlayer and MadVR 0.90.8 and all is working fine here. Need more info / log file to see what's matter here.

I have DSplayer set as default player. Is that what you mean? I won't be home for a couple of hours so I can't post logs atm.

I am still dumb founded as to why madvr doesn't show up in the taskbar even when I set it to "show when active". It will only show if I force it to stay there the entire time. Even if i'm not running any media or media player and just sitting on the desktop.

I suspect why madVR does not show up in the taskbar Win 10, I would do a test (All Settings) (System) (Notifications and Actions) click on (select icons to be displayed on the taskbar) Activate icon ( Mad Home Cinema Control)

It is disabled by default

Hope that helps.

No. What I meant was if Ctrl+J didn't brought up madvr onscreen information, you are most likely not running DSPlayer regardless of what your settings was. It probably revert back to DVDPlayer. That's why I told you to make sure it's the case before messing around more. If it use DVDPlayer instead it explained why madvr tray icon didn't show up during playback as well.

That would just set sticky notification on taskbar. All other running app notification still show if click on upper arrow though including MadVR.

I will check when I get home. How would it default to DVDPlayer? Strange.

No. Default player would still be DSPlayer as you set it in Kodi. But there are many factors / situation that it would use DVDPlayer instead especially when you mess with playercorefactory. The way you shared / played media also play big part especialy if it's not simple local file / smb shared. So without log noway to know what's the real problem.

Ok. Seeing i'm a noob with the inner workings of Kodi, where do I find this log you need to see? Oh, I haven't touch playercorefactory. At least to my knowledge lol.

At home now and just checked. After hitting "o" I see no "Renderer:Kodi MadVR" anywhere in the 6 lines of text.

So it's basically you run Kodi Internal DVDPlayer instead of DSPlayer. That's explained why madvr won't show in taskbar and Ctrl+J do nothing. FYI DSPlayer Codec info showed 4 lines of text
