Here is a sample from Akira - Sample Actually, it doesn't have a PCM track, the Japanese Dolby TrueHD track is 24-bit 192kHz. You may have to disable passthrough and let it decode to LPCM.

I guess, you only have to test the 96kHz multichannel sample from 2L.
Thanks... curious to find out myself Smile.

Can you point me to your previous explanation on how to check for this again? I have just a few 3D ISO's w/subs throughout the movie... 'Stalingrad (2013)', 'The Taking of Tiger Mountain (2014)' & 'Young Detective Dee Rise of the Sea Dragon (2013)'. I can test w/one of these.

would look like this if they are 3d subs

if it looks like this if they are 2d subs

I don't want to get myself into NDA trouble (informal as it may be); hopefully this is okay to post (but, it's mostly good)...

@halfelite & @ alanisrox693D, subs in current-gen Q5 and new Q10 Pro look exactly the same; seem fine to me (based on examples above):

@wesk05, when I play the 'Akira' clip w/LPCM mode, I get no audio. However, LPCM from '3:10 to Yuma' & other BD's I have pass fine as multichannel 5.1 or 7.1. And, the FLAC 5.1 96kHz-24bit clip passed fine as well. My Denon AVR's 'Info' on-screen display only indicated that all 6 channels were active, but the front LCD panel showed 96kHz and 'multich'.

@alanisrox69, here are the results for your MPEG2 samples:
> 29.97 4-2-0 H.264 1080i 26mbps DTS-HD MA 2.0 Sample = Perfect A/V playback
> 29.97 4-2-0 MPEG2 1080i 35mbps DTS-HD MA 5.1 Sample = Perfect A/V playback
> 59.94 4-2-0 MPEG2 720p 20mbps MPA2.0 Sample = Perfect A/V playback
> 29.97 4-2-2 MPEG2 1080i 27mbps DTS-HD MA 5.1 Sample = No picture, audio fine (think I conveyed this before)

Do you have any filters enabled on your TV? like Smooth Screen or any of that "soap opera" effect crap?

are Q10 and Q10 Pro based on the same chip?

Interesting... On the SHIELD with Kodi v17.0 (pre alpha), it decodes to 48kHz LPCM (I have to check the bit). Are you saying FLAC was bitstreamed? Yeah, the front display only shows the signal format and sample rate. I thought it displayed the bit depth also.

@ HDMKV

Subs look indeed good on both players and that's very odd.
Since I have owned a Q5, I know for sure it was not working then.
Stupid question.. but are you sure that those subs aren't hart-coded..Smile.

Hi-end audio is supported only by himdia music and hisilicon music APP:
- 192kHz passthrough, checking A/V receiver screen info ( 24 bit not secure )
- 96kHz multi channel was supported llike current genetion of Q10/Q5
Alll others app incliding kodi can output only 48hz.

yes, FLAC was bitstream.

Thanks looun... yes, FLAC is bitstreamed, and 192kHz is indeed passed (AVR front panel shows this).

That would mean I'd have re-encoded my rips Smile, so nope. Above sub examples are from 1:1 rips in ISO. Only thing I do with all my rips, whether ISO or MKV, is mux only the necessary sub track in. It's the same English PGS track in the full ISO.

(2016-03-04, 04:37)alanisrox69 Wrote: are Q10 and Q10 Pro based on the same chip?
Q10 Pro uses HiSilicon's latest Hi3798C V200 SoC, while current-gen uses Hi3798C. V200 is 64-bit, has HiSilicon 2.0 "Imprex" PQ engine, and supports 4K+HDR. It's also noticeably (though not significantly so) faster, including supporting higher bitrate clips. I've tested up to 255Mbps Jellyfish clips (H.264 & HEVC) w/o stutter, same as with nVidia Shield TV.

What is the projected release date for Q10 Pro?
Reply
March 31, but no USA distributor unfortunately (so will likely need to rely on eBay). For EU, it's Futeko.

Re: 3D subs, I've added a new 3D ISO sample to the A/V samples wiki w/3D subs.

Uh, what?!?!? How do you bitstream FLAC? I've never seen a spec for sending FLAC over HDMI. Do you mean LPCM?

Yes, LPCM output at 192kHz for a 192kHz source (below is the sample I tested). Not down-rezzed or down-sampled from what I can tell.
