v17 LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 17.0)

So.... stand by and wait for a fix -or- can I help push that effort forward by posting somewhere ?
::  LibreELEC 9.2.6 RELEASE - Generic x86_64  ::  Intel 847 NUC  ::  KVR1333D3S9/4G  ::  Kingston SMS200S3/30G mSATA  ::  MS 1044 MCE keyboard  ::  GP-IR02BK remote  ::  Xonfluence  ::  10.9TiB on FreeNAS v11.3-U5 (RAID-Z2)  ::
Implement the fix is the best way to push it forward.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
ok more testing with various clients and server setups...

jarvis (stable) client + krypton client (#612) + krypton pvr (#612) = bad hstp playback under hd and sd (hd terrible)

jarvis (stable) client + jarvis pvr (stable) = perfect playback!

so i can only assume the hstp streaming profile in tvheadend v4+ is the problem!

so out of your hands guys... back to jarvis i go until i see stability in tvheadend 4+ as it is not unwatchable BUT bloody annoying... nothing in debug on tvheadend

@fritsch
Not sure I understand your answer... did I miss something earlier in this thread ?

Is there a fix - as a non-programmer type user - I can make, to make Kodi respond to continuously held UP/DOWN volume control on my remote ?

TIA for pointers Blush

Are you using Tvheadend backend 4.0 or 4.2?

Lol stupid me I forgot to mention that... 4.2 sir
Recorded content is perfect on same server... it's something to do with that hstp profile... I notice both clients buffers run out then increase slowly.
Have you tried Tvheadend 4.0?

I know speaking with the devs there were certainly a lot of changes between those versions which is why both are in the repository.

I'm using v4.0 on jarvis with no issues.

Have not tried krypton with livetv yet.

i think the transcoding sucked me in Confused will have a look at 4.0... your probably right as i recall a more stable setup than this running krypton before so can only assume i may have been running 40 before? getting old and forgetting!

much appreciated for your time!

No there's no fix at the moment, nobody seems to know what the problem is or why it happens. Consequently there's nowhere obvious to "push it forward", for now we just have to hope it will be fixed eventually. It would be really nice if someone with the affected hardware could suggest something insightful, or better still provide a fix. Smile

As it is, auto-repeat is working fine with my setup (Revo3700 with Atom/ION2, USB MCE IR, Harmony One programmed as Ortek VRC-1100) so there's not much I can do to even investigate this.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.

Thanks! Seems to work OK. I get the availible builds up. Will report back any problems when upgrading to next build.

Does not seem to work from 0612 to 0613. When I force an update to see after new builds and I press yes to update to #0613 nothing more happens.

4.0 does exactly the same... ill leave it for now and drop back to jarvis... this is still alpha after all
