And just to confirm, the latest version is 1.0.9 right?

after browsing the thread, someone else got the same problem as me on this same platform, and you asked for logs which he never gave. Mind do a quick bit on how to extract the log so I can attach it here?

Yes, the pi 1/2/3 should all be supported but you have to use the workaround to get it to work because it lacks a browser.
If you did use the workaround and you still have an error, indeed please send me your logfile.

I'm sorry but your link isn't working...

marcelveldt, let me start off by saying thank you for creating such an outstanding add-on for Spotify! After the previous two Spotify add-ons succumbed to non-existent support, I all but gave up until seeing your thread and realizing this was a new start.

So my question is have you given any consideration to posting this work in the audio add-ons section here: http://addons.kodi.tv/category/audio/ ? This is where I looked and I'm sure many other users as well, only to see every other streaming option but Spotify. Not sure what is need for this, but surely your add-on should be more readily accessible!

Thanks again!

This is weird, I couldve sworn I replied to this thread yesterday. Anyway, here it is

Hi Marcelvedt

For the first time, I used the feature "Exam item to collection" and until this part work great, the artists and albuns show in my library, with the arts that I previously have.
But when go to play, the song doesn't start.

here the log:

Hello

I'm new to all this although I've been using Kodi for a while. I'm trying to install Spotify and it's giving me some grief - I can install the addon, authorise it through Spotify, then it fails and I can't start it.

I followed some instructions given earlier in the form and uninstalled the addon, cleared the browser cache, deleted the userdata files, reinstalled the addon, and reauthorised the addon.

But it still doesn't seem to work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Logs are here --> https://db.tt/BEaMUYka

Thanks

I have the same behaviour.

Thanks for the addon. Love it. One question. When I open the context menu on a track there is an option "add to library" (maybe not literally, I'm using German language). When I choose that, the album gets added to my music library. However when I try to play that album or a song from within my music library, it fails. I get a message like "One or more files could not be played. For further details check log". Is playback from the music library even possible and supported by the addon? Would you need a log?

Hi marcelveldt,

Been using this with latest nightlies and it seems to be incredibly slow on krypton libreelec milhouse builds.

Do you notice the same behaviour with krypton? Loading a song takes a long time, then if you skip a song or let the song finish it'll take many seconds to load the next song. Browsing is a lot slower also.

On Jarvis it seems to work a lot snappier.

There is a small workaround to try if you have another client which actually does have a browser:
1. install the spotify client on a pc with a browser
2. open the spotify client and accept the authentication request in the browser.
3. now, on the filesystem navigate to kodi userdata\addon_data\plugin.audio.spotify and copy the cache file to the same location on your pi

I didn't test this but it's worth a shot If it works it might be an idea if I create an option to specify a custom path to the cache file because the token gets refreshed from time to time.

So I installed Kodi to Windows, installed Spotify Addon, started and accepted brauser login. Spotify now works fine in Win Kodi.

I find C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\plugin.audio.spotify\ folder - but do I need to find some username.cache file? I don't have it.
And copying all files from this folder to Raspberry PI 3 same folder does not change anything, I got still error when starting Spotify in PI.

Hello Marcelvedt .

I think Addon Spotify has some sort of bug or problem.

Can I use Kodi for hours , with movies, series and music . But if I open the addon spotify , at some point the kodi will give error and will close . This error may be a few minutes to one hour after opening the addon , even if I 'm already no longer using the addon . I did several tests , and found that only after the opening of the addon , is that this error happens. I'm using Kodi Jarvis , always the latest released version.

Having the same issue, reported it a while a go with debug log but Marcelvedt couldn't see anything unnormal. Have tried to narrow it down but have not come up with something yet.

Love the add-on! Though loading a song on Krypton is incredibly slow :/
