Me too. Air mice are irrelevant to me, find them uncomfortable and infuriating to use. Much happier with a UI optimised for D-pads, or a mini-keyboard with a track pad like the various Rii models. I'd rather not have one bundled at extra cost, as it will just sit unused. (The Wetek Core Air Mouse really annoyed me)

Another issue for me is that Air Mice are often not designed specifically for media player applications, so don't have dedicated media transport keys (FF/REW, REC, STOP, PLAY, PAUSE, SKIP Forward, SKIP Back, CH+, CH-, Vol+, Vol- etc.) which for me are pretty vital for Kodi use.

My normal combo is something like an MCE MS RC6 or PS3 BD Remote for main Kodi duties, with a Rii Mini Keyboard to hand should I need to use a mouse or enter lots of text, though I've starter using my TivoSlide Pro again recently, and really like it. (The concealed keyboard is great for searches in Spotify, entering IP addresses etc.)

Orders are being taken for the Hub but they want 40euro for shipping to Australia!

No way to select anything else. Order cancelled...

Where did you see orders being taken? I only see a preorder link on http://wetek.com/product/wetek-hub

I entered my details on the preorder form a few days ago, but haven't received an email. Also nothing on Wetek Twitter or Facebook.

An integrated WeTek solution really is preferred, EXACTLY the same options as MINIX offer. Users will pay for this superior integrated solution.

After all WeTek have gone to the trouble and expense of getting proper Android DRM and Netflix support. To only implement a very basic D-PAD solution for Android App control makes very little sense and seems like a complete waste of time and effort.
In the end its the users that are paying for this DRM support.

Yes I'm banging on about this repeatedly, but I really expect better support from WeTek BEFORE the device goes on sale to the public.
See what happens when you set such a high support standard ! Wink

All of the buttons work correctly. If you're talking about keymaps, Kodi for Android can't load keymaps based on USB ID, and v17 will have WeTek specific keymaps for Linux (assuming the PR gets accepted, and there is no reason for it to be rejected).

Minix is no better off. If they were, then good news, their remote is plug and play with any other Android box.

They are selling one device for both Android and Linux installs, and they're trying to offer the hardware for cheap. Including the air mouse increases the price, and for nothing. No one, not even WeTek, will be able to make the "best" remote, because everyone has different requirements. Buy the base unit, then buy what you need. It comes with an acceptable base remote.

There's a market for people who want certain playback quality, the ability to run other OSes/firmware, having the full Google Play store, great software support, and other such things. That's WeTek's market. IMO, that's an advanced user market, and not for people looking for a turnkey solution.

Food for thought: The absolute best Android box is the Nvidia Shield TV, and it has the worst POS remote.

Plus, there will be a full WeTek branded air mouse, with keyboard and headphone jack, as an option. I just don't know what the ETA is on it.

Isnt that the remote bundled with Play2s that wont be out till some time in 2017

Yeah but someone said somewhere that they will release this remote sooner separately for anyone to buy if needed.

Cheers, I will give that a go to remap the WeTek Core's unresponsive remote buttons for use on the Hub.

DE, When are we likely to see an iOS version of this App ?
Some iOS Hub users would stop complaining for a while then ... Wink

Trying to purchase a Hub, but at checkout the $33.00 for Express shipping is automatically being added to the total without me even selecting it.Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. I've already sent an email to Wetek support. Just waiting for a response.

I'm guessing that this depends on the desination country. Standard shipping is done by DHL or DPD and express DHL or Fedex. So maybe they have to use Fedex in your country?
