Win Intel HTPCs/NUCs & Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback
OK.
I don't know if you are still collecting user input at this late date, but here goes anyway.

The setup is a Dell 3050 driving a Cambridge Audio Azur 551r. Video comes from either a Synology DS216j (RAID0) for movies or an old WD MyBook for TV Shows. The network is wired and bandwidth is not an issue. My 3d library is only MKV. As background I worked in TV post production for 14 years, and way back in the (NTSC) days I could see field errors.

Good news. The June 30 build does everything is says it will. The color is indistinguishable from the BRD, and Audio pass through works for whatever format is on the original disk. The subtitles on Flying Swards of Dragon Gate worked fine. Manually switching eyes on Pi and Edge of Tomorrow worked fine. Audio stayed synchronized when the movie was paused and played. I found myself watching the movie and and not looking for errors. For grins I watched Avatar in 2d, and it worked just fine, no different then any of my other 2d BRD's. Yea!

Bad news. Skipping chapters sometimes put the audio out of sync, as it did on 300-Rise. Nothing I could do would put the audio back in sync once it was lost. Also every now and then I would get a micro-skip. It looked like part of a frame glitched, but just barely. Naturally I blame Microsoft, Windows probably just had to run some process that couldn't wait.

Overall this build is very very good.

However.

Although my 50 or so 3d movies finally get the love they deserve, my other 300 DVD rips can be unplayable. It seems to depend on the encoding. Sicario is fine but Game of Thrones is unwatchable. I read page 1, I know the rules but this is a pretty big bug.

For fun I removed all traces of June 30 and installed v17b1 with Transparency. Awesome. Some of my older iPhone rez rips that put a heavier demand on the processor micro glitch every now and then but the overall quality is a step up from my old Minix U1 and even older WDTV.

Thank you to the people who make this happen, Kodi is really moving forward. I have to leave v17b1 as the go to player because I want to watch all my movies.

Now to show just how naive I am about programming, I am wondering if the modified for MVC version of ffMPEG can be packaged as a player to be installed as any other add-on and accessed through playercorefactory or the right-click "play using" feature. I do see the menu differences between Jun 30 and v17b1 but wonder if they can be worked around.

hdmkv, thanks for putting the spreadsheet together, it was a big help in my purchasing decision.

For some f*cking reasons, Windows keeps updating my Display drivers which gives me a blurry picture.
Anyone knows which options need to be turned off so it will stop doing it?
I can't take it anymore...

DId you stop the Windows Update Service?
I thought I did, I have pretty much everything unchecked but I guess not... Just not sure which I need to uncheck.

Which driver version are you using, that doesn't give a blurry picture?
It's on the 1st page, in the spreadsheet and it corresponds to my NUC model.

Started using LTSB version of Windows since a few weeks ago as some here suggested, but disabling updates does the trick too.

I'm using LTSB too and what I don't get is, that actually I'm already doing what it says in the 2 videos from movie78.
So why is Windows still updating my Display Drivers??
Btw, is there a place where I can see which Driver version I'm running?

Can we please keep your Windows Update issues to a different thread, this really has nothing to do with 3D MVC support. If your talking about specific drivers that work good, that's great, but talking about update issues is better for a different thread so we don't have to sift through pages of issues not technically related the 3D MVC problems. I know it sort of is, but I hate reading pages not related entirely to what we are working on. If I am wrong in saying this, I apologize in advance, I do not intend on being rude and perhaps this may be, I just want to keep focused.

And how is this off topic? I'm discussing about the MVC build, Windows 10, which is the OS to use for it and specific driver to my NUC. If you have an issue with that, don't read it.

Right click Start, Device Manager, Display Adapters, Double click your GPU, Driver tab, and here is displayed driver version.

Hi All, I couldnt find a more relevant pace to post this so hopefully it's the right place for some help! Smile

I read this thread intially after wanting to get a upgraded HTPC and went for the NUC5i3RYH. Two weeks ater I still can't get anything out of it from kodi other than 2.1.. I've been dealing direct with intel who are basically telling me its a problem with my reciever Onkyo TX-SR508 and won't work, but my bro has the 507 and a older NUC and his works fine..

Rather than type everything out again the link to the thread is below.. I guess I'm kind of hoping with this being a NUC/Kodi thread others have had the same issue and can point me in the right direction because i'm loathe to accept from Intel that after spending £350 I can't get 5.1 Sad

The only issue i know that doesn't work on the NUC5i3RYH are DTSHD and TRUEHD in Windows, but everything works on OpenElec.

Thanks for the reply chap Smile I have a feeling Intel just don't have a clue so are trying to fob me off.. I might try openelec just to disprove their theory it's my amp causing the issue...!
