There is a Spotify connect addon for LibreElec here: https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread-1206.html but from what I read it is only working on Rpi devices.

Spotify Connect is only possible for embedded devices (like car audio and home cinema sets). The code has been ported to the pi but don't expect it to happen in any other add-on. It is closed source code and support for it doesn't exist in any of the current API's/SDK's.

How's the issues with krypton build going? For me the addon wont play on Krypton but works great on jarvis setup.
Both setups on windows machines.

One of the Kodi devs (FernetMenta) is actively working on it, hopefully a resolution will follow soon.

There is a group of people on working on reverse engineering the libspotify api including spotify connect. Here is their shared github. It links to some of their projects and their fairly active gitter room if you want to ask them questions https://github.com/sashahilton00/spotify...-resources
Would be amazing to get this functionality in kodi. I've been trying to look in to it myself but my programming knowledge is mostly limited to web technologies so I'm kind of lost

Fully agree, Spotify Connect would indeed be great! A few questions / thoughts:

I'm running this great addon since a while and was very happy with it.
It works perfect with Yatse from my tablet. Much better than then other addons I have tested before.
But since yesterday I have the strange issue that I can't play music from Spotify anymore.
Every track I want to play I hear only the first 9 to 12 seconds music. After this I hear only silence until the next track starts.
From the next track I hear up to 12 seconds music, then silence again, and so on...
I can play every local music from my NAS without any problem. Only Spotify does not work anymore.
I'm on Openelec 6.0.3 Generic x86_64 with your Spotify Addon 1.0.20.
Any idea?

I will post a new version later today to fix this issue. I just reproduced it and only seems to happen on linux

I've just uploaded version 1.0.21 to the repo which will fix the playback issue. Please test.
Note that the playback issue on Kodi Krypton is still being worked on, that will be fixed in Kodi's code.

Hmm, looks like your download was corrupted when you updated to the latest version.
Can you try to manual install by zip ?
