Please help, ive read the FAQs but cant get past step 2 in the installation guide(Now Open the IARL addon. Dont run the wizard yet! Ensure you see a bunch of game systems listed. Whoo Hoo! Almost there!)
I want to use Retroplayer only, and have the latest Retroplayer Android test build for Kodi. As soon as I try to open IRAL, i get an error.

How did you install the addon? The error you got is due to dependencies that did not install for some reason (which should auto install if you install by zip or by my repo).

To fix you can manually install the dependencies by searching for them:
plugin.video.youtube (needed for game trailers)
script.module.dateutil (needed for game release date formatting)
script.module.requests (needed for downloading)

and if you're on LibreElec:
virtual.system-tools (needed for 7zip extraction)

Thanks bud, I installed from your repo. I checked, and those dependencies are indeed installed. Do you have any Android devices? If so, can you try installing IARL on the latest Android Retroplayer Test build and let me know if you have the same issue. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=173361

Thanks for the info. I've downloaded the latest nightly, and I'm not able to reproduce this on my mac (IARL loads up just fine). I'll give it a try on android when I can.

Ok, thanks. Works fine on the Windows Retroplayer test build too, just no luck with the Android version.

whats the easiest way to populate an XML list with standalone games only?

I have all my roms on a network share at home, ive previously used used Rom Collection Browser but this seems to integrate better with various skins. However the one thing I cant work out is how to scrape my games into it.

I can change the Download path etc but the list still shows all the games and I only want it to show mine. I Know I can create my list but that seems quite time consuming and not sure what happens if I add a new rom to the Download path whether it gets picked up or not... any suggestions welcome

Although, from the sound of it, you're probably going to have better luck with the AEL addon. IARL isn't really setup for scraping, all the scraping is done automagically for the default lists. If you want to create your own games list, then manually editing the xml files is currently the only way.

AEL, which is also awesome, will scrape metadata for you and create a launcher.

Thanks for this, I've looked at AEL but seems its more geared towards Kypton which is fine except I currently cant upgrade to that due to a plugin I use on daily basis not working on it...so hyperspin or RCB it is for me at the moment I guess

Love this add-on ,I have all the emulators working apart from the ps1 .I have all bios files in the system folder and have tried both medafen and the hw version.I get the error ..archive returned no file or requires login settings .....any ideas ...thanks for all hard work

Indeed, as zachmorris says, to the best of our knowledge the internet archive is an unusual exception to the standard DMCA-related copyright rules found in the United States, which you would know, Rascas, if you had read that that other thread. Given the archive's special, legal position in terms of gaming, we've decided to take the stance that so long as the archive makes content freely available in a way that appears to be perfectly legal, then there doesn't seem to be any reason to prevent accessing that content using Kodi. And if, at some point, the Archive loses the right to make freely available this content, then they, themselves, should likely remove the ability to access the content, as they work very hard to stay on the right side of the law.

Hey bud, a couple questions,first, i noticed some games say in your list say "Not found in the archive" when i go to download them. For example Mario 3 for NES. Is there a way to upload the rom to the archive to fix it?? The oother question is in the rom search feature, its coming up blank where you would select the archive to search??

Heya guys forgive me if this has been mentioned before but isn't RCB able to extract and use .7z files?
Would it be possible to ask the dev for some advice on how to utilize it in IARL.

Some games aren't in the archives. The specific example you gave I checked, it's not there (not sure why). A lot of these can be fixed by switching archives though, so this one I can fix and will add to an update. I'd appreciate people opening git issues if they find specific ones not working, that way I have something to trigger me to go look - I can add a note on the first post about this

Yes, 7z doesn't work on Android. Android is the nemesis of IARL. It's a walled garden of suck for the amateur programmer.
